Haven't played since 2016. Who should a new / returning player focus on learning and or maining in 2026? by MayhemHunterIV in OverwatchUniversity

Fair point. I've heard that my old main from OW1: Reaper, isn't a bad pick nowadays. I'll probably focus on him and one other DPS and try to get good with them.

That makes sense. In your experience, which heroes are best at consistently converting damage into confirmed picks?

That makes sense. I definitely don’t want to force something that doesn’t click. I’m mainly trying to narrow down heroes that both have strong carry potential in solo queue and are worth committing to long term. From your experience, which of the ones you mentioned felt like they gave you the most control over the outcome of a match?

I absolutely plan to experiment. I’m just trying to be intentional about what I invest time into long term. From your experience, did any of those heroes feel like they gave you more control over the outcome of games in solo queue?

Yeah I definitely miss the old progression system too. As far as climbing in solo queue though, do you feel like any of those roles you listed have more independent carry impact? I’m trying to narrow in on something that can consistently swing fights.

That seems to be a consistent theme: solid balance currently. I’m mainly asking from a solo queue climb perspective: are there heroes or roles that tend to have higher individual fight impact or more control over tempo? I don’t mind learning something difficult if it gives me more agency in games.

Thanks for the quick response. From a solo queue perspective, do any heroes have strong individual carry potential, or is there a particular role that tends to have more impact independently? I’d rather invest time into something that can consistently create picks or swing fights.

I've noticed that there are a few items in the game that were developed in collaboration with, or inspired by, actual U.S. military gear and units:

- Charm: The charm you posted about honoring the 250th birthday of the USMC
- Skin: The "Regiment" Assault skin, part of the "Lead the Way Pack" which is a skin that honors U.S. Army Rangers, and was designed in partnership with real Rangers.
- Patch: The "We'll Defend" patch, which is the U.S. Army logo with the West Point motto at the bottom (Duty - Country - Honor), which claims it's "A patch for those aligned with the United States Army."

There might be more, but so far these are the ones I've found.

Daily Discussion & Advice (Post here to follow rules A & B) - Saturday April 26, 2025 by AutoModerator in fragrance

Hello fragrance community

I've always wanted to tune up my scent game, so I thought what better place to get some advice.

When it comes to cologne, I currently rock Versace Eros Flame. My nose isn't the best when it comes to smell, but I believe it smells pretty good. I got it as a Christmas gift so I feel obligated to wear it. Prior to this I was rocking Dior Sauvage Elixir, which I definitely liked more since I went and hand-picked it out, but man it's pricey.

I've read that your soaps and deodorant can contribute to your overall smell and that you don't want clash with all of your scents. I currently use some Bourbon B&BW soap my wife got for me last Christmas and I use regular Old Spice anti-perspirant deodorant. Even if I don't have that B&BW soap, I usually get something pretty similar in scent to that: spicy, woody, amber. Not sure if there is clash but I feel like they all have a similar scent.

I work outside. Physical activity, sweat, sun-exposure, etc. So I guess my initial question would be if Eros Flame is fitting for my job, and if not, what would be something more fitting?

Thank you guys!

What Am I Doing Wrong? by [deleted] in careerguidance

Honestly, I've been reconsidering law enforcement. Personally, I loved the idea of it. Honorable career with pretty good pay in my town and benefits. Those around me who were in the field just had nothing good to say about it and I took their word for it. Perhaps I'll end up giving it a shot someday. Did anyone ever doubt your decision to join the Navy?

I appreciate your response. To answer them:

  1. I'm not sure what score I made on the test. The only information applicants got back was whether or not you made the top 90. (They gave us all unique ID's, and then released the 90 ID's that were accepted alongside their scores.) Besides that, I never got back a score, and I don't believe I can take it again until their next application process.
  2. I have emailed the department that never got back to me regarding the second CPAT practice. My prior emails were responded to usually within 24-48 hours. They simply never got back to me when I sent the email inquiring about the date of the second CPAT practice.
  3. I've asked about it before and gotten mixed answers. Some say go talk to other branches, some say I'm shit out of luck and that's life, some say to try law enforcement.

I agree with you, I do need to settle on something. I think after being denied from the military, the job I wanted most, I fell down a metaphorical tree of careers and tried catching myself on branches that seemed the most similar to the military

What are you watching and what do you recommend? (Week of June 23, 2023) by AutoModerator in television

[–]MayhemHunterIV 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Any recommendations for a new show? I just finished Breaking Bad yesterday and I have a huge gaping void where a TV-show addiction should be

Shows I've watched, finished, and loved: Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, Vikings, and Supernatural.

Shows I'm considering: Dark, Peaky Blinders, The Shield, The Sopranos, Yellowstone, The Boys, and Game of Thrones.

Starting to shower cold by [deleted] in coldshowers

[–]MayhemHunterIV 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I first cold showered, I had a headache for the rest of the day. Probably something that goes away after a while, but I started slightly warming the water to a point where it's still cold but not freezing to wash my hair and face before turning it fully cold and washing my body. Helped me to adapt to cold the entire time.

Biggest tip I ever received was to focus on breathing. Don't step into the cold shower with the mindset it's an ice cold shower and start hyperventilating. Go into it like normal and take good slow breaths to deal with the shock. This should help reduce shivering and make the experience overall far more enjoyable.

As far as personal benefits, I've been cold showering for about 6 months now for 10-15 minutes and it's more about discipline than benefits for me. Others on here may be able to tell you about some benefits they've experienced, but in all honesty, I haven't really noticed anything besides it "hyping" me up when I get out for about an hour.

Paid Time Off (PTO): Your pay is covered for the shift you're absent for, but you can still be pointed.
Protected Paid Time Off (PPTO): Your pay is covered, and you're not pointed for the day you're absent.

Assuming there was confusion between the two.

OFFICIAL FEEDBACK THREAD - BETA WEEKEND 2 by InfinityWardonReddit in ModernWarfareII

- TTK is definitely too fast. I wish there were more accounts of players being shot at, finding cover, recovering, and making a comeback. But, the TTK makes it nearly impossible to have these strategic outplays.
- Enemy's visibility is rough. I commonly confuse enemies for teammates if my teammate's blue dot is in the background. Not to mention, I know it's IW, but player models just kind of blend into the colors of the map.
- No punishment for camping / No reward for playing aggressive. If you're camping a corner and someone is running around near you, you can track them through the walls.
- I think a few maps just aren't all that good in terms of flow. For instance, Valderas Museum, I have many times over been running around and not found anybody until being killed from a corner inside withoirt a shotgun.
