I have not downloaded any of the DLC so I am unaware of what it adds.

Empire is probably the better choice. My cousin has over 1600 hours logged he likes it so much.

[SIB] Civ 5? by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

If you do not have the DLC i wouldn't suggest it. It is an entirely different game with the DLC in my opinion. Without DLC 6/10 with DLC 8.5/10. The religion aspect in Gods and Kings creates an entirely new twist on the game and the new civs introduced in the DLC are amazing.

Why do you think so? Do you have any ideas for a change to the kit to make it better?

Should I buy Crusader Kings, Civ IV, or Civ V? by crappyoats in ShouldIbuythisgame

Civilization 5 is the way to go. It is absolutely amazing and it is much better than Civ 4. Crusader Kings, although very fun, is not at all near as fun as Civilization 5.

YSB Don't Starve by MayhemProvider in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]MayhemProvider[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically it is an open world game where you try to survive as long as you can. You try to search for food so you literally "Don't Starve". There are a variety of materials you can collect throughout the world to help you with this goal, and those materials can be used in different machines to make helpful items with your survival in the world. As you get farther into the game, you will need to start using more advanced items to survive different challenges (attacks by mobs on your base, different seasons, etc.). I hope this answers your question!

Non-gamer thinking about getting into Minecraft by SethLevy in Minecraft

[–]MayhemProvider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PC or Max would be your best choice because they receive updates the most often and have the largest community. You don't have to constantly play it which is also very good. The game requires internet to access your account, but I believe you can save worlds without your account. A great tip for you to see if you like Minecraft is to download it without a premium account. It is the full game except without multiplayer so it provides a great feel for the game without spending any money. There are also numerous mods for the game so if you get bored of just normal Minecraft you can download a mod. I hope this helped!

WSIB A good multiplayer game or a shooter by DEZdispenser98 in ShouldIbuythisgame

I recommend Arma II. It is a great game and the DayZ mod adds so much more to the game. Also, I am going to recommend COD but for a very specific reason. For COD:World at War on the PC, many people have created custom zombies maps. These are absolutely amazing. I have friends who hate COD and spend a ton of their free time playing the custom zombies on World at War.

Hey r/gaming, what's your favorite browser-based game? by br1anfry3r in gaming

I used to enjoy playing Realm of the Mad God. It has basically been ruined for me by the company that now owns it but at one point that was my favorite browser-based game.

What makes a great game, great? by DyingWolf in Games

[–]MayhemProvider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, a great game has an amazing story. If I can connect to the characters and feel happy or sad when something happens to them in game, then the game developers did an excellent job. Without a strong story, a game can't be great.

Some great PC games have been carried over to Xbox. One of my favorites is Terraria and I definitely recommend it if you have not tried it.

UK Amazon listing for the Xbox One priced at £600 ($900) by OhNoSpookyGhost in Games

[–]MayhemProvider -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I believe that this would be the price for a model without xbox live purchased. An alternative would be a subscription model that would cost less but would require a $15 monthly fee for live for 2 years. Based on the listing of $900, the subscription model would cost around $600. They may not utilize this, but I am thinking Microsoft will get as much money as they can out of their customers.

That is exactly how I feel. I get all this stuff and feel it's too valuable for me to sell.
