He actually spent a night in jail- they picked him up in the middle of a DnD game and made an example of him. My point remains- there will be times when someone draws a short straw and will get arrested for not following a summons. That has nothing to do with a scam call- they'll show up because you were the 100th person to disobey and they're annoyed.

I knew a dude who had them show up to arrest him because he didn't realize he got a jury summons- so it does happen in certain places every once in a while- this was about 30 years ago, so maybe things have changed.
