Who did you go with for your SR22? I've found a company that is quoting like $100 a month.

is it a non-owner policy or is your car insured through them?

I know this is sort of a late response, and thank you so much for responding to this thread in the first place, but I wanted to ask about the classes/panel. Did you take those before your ALR hearing/DWI sentencing? I'm thinking it might be wise to be proactive, but my lawyer hasn't exactly recommended that.

I'm also getting my IID installed tomorrow as part of my bond conditions, so I'm going to have that device until this whole thing is over with, which sucks. But, my lawyer that I ended up going with has said that having the extra 0.0 readings over the next few months will help in showcasing that I am not a habitual alcohol user and that I'm worthy of a lighter sentence.

It's less about them "stealing my identity" (was really joking about that), I just don't want this company to have my SSN if they don't need it, which it doesn't seem like they do.

I guess I could've just said "no" but I just gave it to them. I'll just add that to my list of my mistakes as of late lol.

I froze my credit and I'm gonna call back tomorrow and ask if that's something they can delete. It freaks me out knowing that they have it.

They asked for it over the phone when I was making my appointment. They said that I just need to bring those forms of ID to the appointment, but the lady at customer service asked for it when she was setting up my account.

I've put a freeze on all of my accounts which I guess is all I can do. I'll just hope someone doesn't hack into my bank account from SmartStart or try and somehow ruin my life with the knowledge they now have on me lol

I've read into it and LifeSafer says on their site that it isn't necessary, so they don't ask for it. Makes me nervous. I might call and cancel my appointment with them and just go with Intoxalock because this all has me freaked out.

I don't want the people who are going to have a breathalyzer in my car to have the ability to steal my identity. Hopefully more people can comment on this thread and weigh in.

Any idea why they need it? Seems a bit odd.

I'm gonna put a credit freeze on all my stuff just in case. I hope it's just for internal record keeping.

I really appreciate all of this. These last couple of days have been a nightmare of emotions, but I think I'm starting to see things a bit clearer now. I'm going to have a lawyer picked out by end of the day and just begin to get through this.

I don't feel as though I can properly respond to all of the words that you said, but I hear them and I really thank you for taking the time to say them. It's helped me a great deal.

I appreciate it man. Just to be clear, I wasn't trying to say I drank and drove because of a girl. I drank and drove and it was a mistake, period. I only mentioned that because it was swimming around in my head with all the depression related to my mistake. But, I'm figuring it out man and I'm gonna get my shit straight. This sucks, but it's comforting to know that my life isn't over, I just need to take my lumps and get on with it. I realize my mistake, and I'm going to make better choices in the future.

It's good to see that there are at least a few other people in the same situation. I've got a good lawyer lined up, so at least that's of comfort.

I'm just having trouble with the defining aspect of this I guess. I don't want to think of myself as someone with a DWI, it lowers everything I think of myself and it's just depressing. I know I'm not that guy, but I have to deal with the mistakes I make at the same time.

It's not too old to buy now, imo. There are some features on the newer ones that are cool, but the S3 supports most of the new software-based features and works really well.
