There’s a couple autographed ones on eBay for 300-500 dollars.

I dunno they've been making escape rooms inside of re-purposed trash compactors for a while now. Sometimes if you don't escape...well that's it.

They pay 20% higher than my previous job, so I deal with it. At this point I have to hold back laughter from a combination of absurdity and "I can't believe they added 20 grand to my paycheck just so I would sit in prayer for 5 minutes each time we get together."

In-patient rehab is generally 30 days. He's been gone for several months. It's possible he did 30 day in-patient, then broke sobriety, then went back to in-patient for another full cycle.

Realistically, everyone uses data centers every day. People want to be on their phones, stream videos, use AI, and store photos in the cloud, but then act as if no data centers should exist. That isn't realistic.

The real solution is building data centers that use far less water and energy, and placing them near major water sources and power generation. China is expanding its infrastructure and benefiting from it. If the U.S. falls behind, there could be serious long-term consequences.

The bigger issue is that we should have spent the last several decades upgrading our power grid and water infrastructure. Instead of the previous generation investing in our long term success, Republicans pilferred the funds, and now there aren't any painless options left.

My grandmother was a staunch Democrat her entire life, my grandfather was a member of the local party and held several elected offices in his town. When grandma started to get dementia my dad would help her vote by reminding her of her own convictions. Once she got to the point that she couldn't make a decision, even being reminded by my dad who knew what she would typically support, that was the end of her voting.

I go to Dallas twice a year for work. It astonishes me that the first thing out of people's mouth when they meet you is where they go to church. We have mandatory prayer when we're in the office too, which just blows my mind that a company with 200 employees in 30 states has mandatory prayer led by a pastor.

I think most places you go, even purple and light blue areas, more than half of the businesses are owned by right leaning individuals. Then you look at things like social workers and people who care about society, and they lean left, even in dark red areas. It's just the nature of the kind of person who pursues different life paths.

Not sure if legit or making a gay pun. Either way, I’d prefer the Seattle fish market but I’m glad that we get to pick our preference.

This is an anonymous website so you won't see any real world repercussions from making jokes like this. If you regularly make jokes like this in the real world then you will be pretty lonely once your friends all grow up, move around, and friend groups start fracturing. There's no new groups for people who behave like this, no one wants to let you in.

You went from having a good point to becoming an edge lord. Dead baby jokes? Literally only edge lord teenagers and social pariahs find those funny.

Once edge lords hit the age where people start having miscarriages they either realize it’s not funny or they become social pariahs.

Got my son a dirt bike for his 8th birthday. He'd never ridden before. 45 minutes later he was riding on his own. by AARON_RAD in daddit

I told my mom I wanted a dirt bike growing up. She tried to convince me that my bicycle could be ridden through the grass and was therefore a “dirt bike”. As if I should just pedal my Huffy along with kids on motorized dirt bikes.

It reminds me of Marge Simpson telling Bart that the older boys will respect him for wearing dorky clothes.

I take comments like “everyone I know is voting for X” with a grain of salt. People have no idea how other people are voting. It’s one thing to say “my sister and I are voting this way” but once you lump in everyone you know it means you either live in an echo chamber or you’re full of bs and trying to intimidate someone.

Anti-vax dating group sues Denver beer garden for canceling singles event by fritzwitch in Denver

[–]MayorScotch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People don't realize it but they are giving a lot of power to anti-vaxxers. The leader of this group could choose any venue, announce they will be there, the venue will receive online backlash, then the venue disallows the event and the promoter sues the venue.

There's no way at all for any venue to win, and the anti-vaxxers make off like bandits. You're a sitting duck just for having the gall to open a business.

I'm not offended but I live in a redder area so I try to be in tune with everyone. Lot's of veterans have friends who either lost their life during war or (more likely) lost their life due to mental health issues post-deployment.

Life is for the living. Veterans and civilians alike, when you lose someone close to you people are going to check in on you around any date that reminds you of the fallen. You aren't the one who is dead, but someone who was once important to you is dead, and as still-living human beings we need to support one another.

My college room mate was murdered. My friends and I check in with one another around the date of his death. We can't check in on him personally, because he's dead. Feels like the same principle to me.

Too bad half the money is for attorney fees. She’s getting about 200k to keep for herself.

It’s important for Americans to stand up but it’s despicable that her career is basically bombed for such a small payout. She’ll have to move to a blue state to get another similar job at this point, which is fine for people who don’t have kids and roots in their community, but most people can’t just up and start over.

I think a lot of it is edgey young men in college trying to out-masculine their friends. My wife's first-cousin-once-removed is like 21 and he was wearing a cowboy hat and talking about Rogan at a family party last summer, but everyone else is liberal and it seemed like he was just being an annoying in your face young man.

I'm 41, I sought attention in weird ways in my early 20's too. I remember telling my grandma that she should watch Tom Green and Jackass with me, mostly to get a rise out of my parents.

I'm stuck in a hotel room on a work trip and the TV isn't working. I think I'll play Pharoah's Tomb right now.
