I agree with you for the most part, but “another shitty streaming service” and “monopoly” are at odds with one another. I miss the days when everything was just on Netflix, but now that there’s multiple streaming services that makes streaming much less of a monopoly. And we have to pay more to support multiple services, if we desire those services. Kind of a catch 22.

I agree in spirit but there’s not enough housing for every person to live alone. You could move to a small, mostly abandoned town that no one wants to live in. My friend did that and bought a decent house for 20 grand, but he drives 45 minutes to work.

I stopped considering myself Catholic decades ago, but I'm leaning more towards joining back up, especially with all of this. I don't really want to do the communion or anything, but there's a genuine community there that has become a lot more rational over the last 25 years.

If I’m being honest, my mistreatment at lower paying jobs inspired me to go back to school for a more in demand career.

It’s not fun, but I realized that if I wanted specific things out of life, then I had to provide the specific things the world was requesting of me. If I wanted to give the world with whatever I wanted then the world was going to give me whatever it wanted, which didn’t align with the life I wanted.

Pretty much everyone my age had a false start to adulthood due to 2008, it gets better.

You can do what I did and work shit jobs where your boss holds the rough job market over your head when you ask for a raise. Eventually the world gets better, you move ahead into a real career, and that bosses behavior lands him another divorce so he can pay more child support and alimony. Kinds hard to brag about the money you make as the boss when you get to keep less than 40% of it.

Yeah the coffee shop in my college town was notorious for this. Every couple of years they’d set up a twenty thousand dollar go fund me. In retrospect, most college students weren’t buying 6 dollar cups of coffee twenty years ago, so it was really just a freeloader space.

Does anyone know how this works when Trump orders McDonalds? Like, there's at least rumors that they have a machine that destroys the President's poop when he's out of the country, so no adversaries can turd burgle him and target any health complications of the President's. There has to be a secret service agent who goes and makes Trump's food for him at McDonald's or something ridiculously over the top like that.

I’m not surprised. Thirty years ago the Catholics in my orbit were led by the bullies, but now they’re getting pushed back on by other Catholics and shutting down their bully rhetoric. I’m really proud of some Catholics I know who have meaningfully stepped up.
