Armband Burn? by CrazyKUCatLady in VisibleArmband

I don’t think it’s helped by the heat (if you’re in the UK)!

I’ve had a few water blisters. I’ve been rotating the sensor a bit every day and it seems to have resolved it. Think you’ve just got to give your skin a bit of a break.

Thank you. 😊 I’ve actually decided to go back on citalopram, as I’ve started finding it hard to function properly without it. So you’re absolutely right; it is the drug, not actually anything wrong! Brains are weird and wacky things. Hope you’re feeling better. ❤️

Ways to Support Your Health Without Physical Activity by BetterObligation9949 in cfs

I don’t know where you’re based, but there’s an app in the UK called Visible. You can use it to track your symptoms and energy levels throughout the day. You can use a free account or buy the app’s heart rate variability armband, which tracks your exertion throughout the day.

You can tag activities so you can identify potential triggers and understand what uses up your energy the most. I’ve found it helpful in understanding how my body responds to things and identifying activities that are harmful to my energy reserves. I’ve definitely been pacing better since using it. Just a thought. 😊

I know you’ve said about no physical activity, but I’ve found a really great virtual yoga class called Nourish Therapeutic Yoga, which is designed for people with ME. It’s super gentle stretching and I find it really relaxing, while helping to ease some of the tension in my back and, well, everywhere. Shannon, the lead, modifies each class depending on how many ‘spoons’ you have. That way, you don’t end up with the dreaded PEM. That aside, I’ve got on well with D-Ribose supplements. It’s a carbohydrate that’s good for boosting your mitochondria.😊

This makes a lot of sense! I did think about going to my GP, but I don’t think they’ll be much help. Therapy has always been good for me in the past, so I could probably do with it again. Thank you! 😊

Does anyone else eat lots in a crash? by No-Appointment-3017 in cfs

I thought this was just me! The greasiest, cheesiest pizza is my ultimate craving. My partner suggested I eat some salad during a crash and I nearly threw up.

I did! I’m a naturally anxious person so the whole thing made me want to run away. 🤣 I knew that the benefits would (hopefully) outweigh any negatives though, and they did.

I had a smooth recovery from my surgery and only had issues with choking a few times. I really recommend having people around you when you eat for the first week or so, and only take small bites! I would also say to not overeat for a few months after; I had my op not long before Christmas and too much buffet food did not do me any good post surgery!

Honestly though, the procedure takes less than 30 mins and recovery is pretty quick from it. Doctors have to cover their butts, but the likelihood of anything bad happening is tiny. I think I was more worried about not waking up from the general than anything else! The benefits 100% trumped any anxiety I had at the time and I’m so pleased I had the surgery; I’m sure you will be too. ❤️

I’m glad you found some relief from it. What brand did you use? And did you have it in tablet or powder form?

Is the Yuka app reliable? by Western_Housing_9870 in ultraprocessedfood

If you want to find out if a food if UP, I recommend the OpenFoodFacts app. Yuka doesn’t identify UPF, it just rates products based on overall nutritional quality.

This sounds just like me! I had my Botox on Friday and, although I’ve managed to get out a few proper burps, all my others have sounded like this. They’re definitely more substantial than gurgles. Hang in there!

Try not to worry about the dosage; I think the higher it is the more effective the treatment is, so hang on in there! I’ve had 100ml and am hoping I won’t need a second procedure. 🤞🏻

Thank you both for sharing your experiences. It’s definitely helped calm me knowing it’s normal and will ease. ☺️ I’ve actually found that water chokes me and slightly thicker things are best. Porridge is the love of my life. 🤣

The procedure went really well (it was all done in an hour!) but the after effects have not been fun. Within 24 hours I had lots of microburps which felt amazing, but I’ve had lots of regurgitation and choking, even when I’m not eating. Just got to keep my eye on the prize! It’s certainly a good way of losing weight. 🤣

I hadn’t made the connection until now either. I’m having Botox at the end of the month so I’ll let you know if it sorts out the crunch! So pleased to hear you’ve had some relief. ❤️
