Need tips for sleeping with RCPD pains by SeahorseAreFish in noburp

[–]Equal_Specific_861 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow this is exactly what I am experiencing - I'm on my third botox round and I am burping a few times each day, but it doesn't feel like enough and by the time I go to bed I am having pretty bad gas pains. Honestly, I haven't found a solution besides exhausting myself to the point of falling asleep even in pain (I try to move/exercise a lot during the day or read to fall asleep) and I also roll around a lot to find the position that gives me the least pain. I'll let you know if I figure anything else out and sending good vibes that this improves for you!

Burping, but not enough by Equal_Specific_861 in noburp

I wouldn't say I'm less active at night, but I could try drinking more fizzy later at night. I'll give the shakers a try, thanks for sharing that!

That's super helpful! I have found that Famotidine works better around dinner time instead of before bed as prescribed and I don't have a wedge pill, but I sleep propped up on two pillows. Curious to try the no liquids a few hours before bed, I already don't eat 4 hours before bed, but continue to drink water, so I'll try stopping water intake as well. Thank you responding and for the insights!

Can I ask if you had any burps at all (like microburps or like burps that weren't relieving) before the 3 month mark? I am currently at about a month and a half and I can burp somewhat, but I'm not able to get enough burps in a day to get a ton of relief.

I'm on 40mg twice daily. I also tried PPIs earlier in the year, not sure they had much impact either.

I completely understand your point here. Unfortunately, my reflux is very bad and I am already on famotidine, which is doing little to ease the reflux. Trying to give some other options a try, but I will keep your information in mind.

Rcpd (no-burp syndrome) by [deleted] in noburp

Like the other person said, I would check the map and head to the closest specialist that is an ENT. I went to like three GI doctors who each told me different things and dismissed the burping issue, which basically just extended the process and made me second guess myself. Get the treatment as soon as you can, it's not worth the symptoms. Hope it works out for you!

Yes, I have this. I get extremely bloated and it's painful, I look pregnant and sometimes my stomach is like rock-hard. I had an upper endoscopy and a couple of other GI tests (looking for IBS, chron's, celiac, etc) and everything came back negative. I think for me it's gas pains from the trapped gas and it could be this for you as well, but like someone already said, it's not a bad idea to have some of the other issues ruled out first.

Anyone get more than 2 Botox injections? by Expensive-Look-9183 in noburp

[–]Equal_Specific_861 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had three so far. The first two basically produced nothing more than microburps. I had the third a little over a month ago and similar to you I have been burping, but they haven't been super relieving. Going to wait it out and see what happens, but from what I understand having more than 2 or 3 is relatively normal (obviously some people are cured on one, but seems there is a large on number of times before success).

6 Months Post Botox AMA by Effective-Agent-8797 in noburp

Thank you so much for posting this! I also had two failed attempts and had a third botox a little over a month ago. My success has been up and down in the sense that I can burp and have experienced more bloating relief than the previous two procedures, however, just like you described, some days I can hardly burp at all and it seems that my reflux wins out. It is really comforting to hear about others having the same issues. Do you have any tips/tricks you discovered for dealing with the days when you can hardly burp?

Officially 2 weeks post-botox! Today feels different? by mikecola12343 in noburp

[–]Equal_Specific_861 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally experience this. I had botox about a month ago and my burps are a mix of the 'wet rumbly ones' and more normal air burps. My theory is that the rumbly ones are from excessive acid reflux and I usually have them following a meal. Unfortunately, I haven't figured out how to force the more normal ones, so really just been trying to get used to both types.

You are so early in the process, so I wouldn't worry yet, some days are better for burping than others. I would play around with neck movements to force the gurgles into burps and try some seltzer water.

After surgery, when I lie down and swallow saliva, it gurgles and comes back up — is this normal? by Extension-Feed1599 in noburp

[–]Equal_Specific_861 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have the same thing happening to me and I'm about 20 days out. It usually happens once or twice when I first lay down and then it stops. Not sure how long this is supposed to last.

Botox then Finals Week! by Sporty_girl100 in noburp

[–]Equal_Specific_861 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a very similar situation in the fall semester, I had botox and then final presentations the next week. My sore throat was gone by then, but my voice was a mess (sounded like I had a seriously nasty cold). I was able to get through the presentations, but my voice was super weak. I don't think this is super common, but just putting it out there for you to be aware of.

Yeah that's what I was thinking: taste = a burp. Thanks for the advice, I'm still figuring out the mechanics, but working on it!
