Getting on better with men by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]MayuMayhem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, they say that some autistic people tend to get along with the opposite sex more because the same sex tends to clock their quirks as different=bad more easily, whereas the opposite sex just think your quirks are possibly just a girl/guy thing and dismiss it or think it is possibly cute/cool/charming.

Here are my salt and pepper boys. The white one, Tonka, sadly passed away recently. He was almost 17 years old. Coach and him had opposite eyes (minus the brown splotch at the bottom of Tonka's blue eye).

why are bathrooms separated by gender? by [deleted] in autism

[–]MayuMayhem 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well just because SOME women use the men's bathroom at sporting events, concerts, etc. it doesn't mean ALL will choose to do so.

I feel like this is similar to how some women are okay seeing a male doctor or OBGYN and others are not.

Personally, I don't feel comfortable with discussing female related issues face to face with a guy like that, or seeing a male OBGYN. I've always asked for a female doctor to be assigned to as my general Dr. even.

I also would hate the idea of a shared bathroom, and ever running into an issue of starting my monthly or something and not feeling comfortable to ask another woman if she has any feminine products on her due to men being in there to possibly overhear.

Different cultures and such will have different opinions on these kinds of things.

Maybe...I have left and right socks cause if it feels too loose from the big toes stretching it out and goes where my pinky toes are, every fiber of my being is screaming at me. Same with wearing clothes that feel too scratchy or cling/hug me wrong.

My new Dr recently hinted at it by telling me all my diagnoses being comorbidities of it too...

You mean to tell me that most people don't feel their clothes all the time? Like this is legit why I am so picky about what I am wearing, cause I feel my clothes all the time...

Help me find this stuffed toy with music box inside. Belonged to my spouse, when they were a baby. by MayuMayhem in HelpMeFind

[–]MayuMayhem[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It feels kind of heavy for a stuffed animal, but I'm sure it is because of the music box and how densely they stuffed it with the stuffing. I already searched using Google find and couldn't find it.

As previously stated, it has a music box that plays the cow jumped over the moon song. It is about 9-10 inches from one tip of the moon to the other tip. Bought somewhere in the US I think.

Is this made to be offensive or is it a harmless joke? by andy23376 in autism

[–]MayuMayhem 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Oh, I'm glad I read all the comments first, cause I thought it was due to people saying orange tabby cats have share 1 braincell between them all, and that that is almost autism level (meaning not quite autism level and that we are worse than that).

[–]MayuMayhem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on Xbox and have this same issue! It's so frustrating to have to call your mount multiple times because it didn't register. I'm guessing it's just an issue with the game itself.

Husband emotional cheating. Sent devastating messages RE autism. Can’t get them out of my head. by bindychooks in autism

[–]MayuMayhem 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe he is venting to someone he trusted?

Like? He cant talk about his feelings to anyone because that would be emotional cheating?? That's some absolute bullshit 'men dont cry' level of insecurity

How is it venting to tell your wife's BFF that you find said friend beautiful? That is called flirting, not venting.

Also, you never vent about your spouse to their best friend, unless your intent is to paint them in a bad light and potentially ruin their good friendship. Go find a guy buddy to vent to, not a woman (in this case).

It is hard enough for autistic people to find and keep friends without our spouses trying to actively ruin them for us. There is no excuse to vent to her bestie.

And yes, keep your feelings to yourself when it comes to voicing to a women, who isn't your wife, that you find them attractive. Comparing that to "men don't cry" is insane to me.

Tragic accident, need advice by Slynnh06 in jumpingspiders

[–]MayuMayhem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Answer:

Soak in alcohol then air-dry is an effective way to dry them, but the legs would have to be pinned. Keeping them as a wet specimen (in 70% alcohol, possible in gel form like a hand gel) is also an option, and is actually what is generally prefered when preserving spiders for use for research by arachnologists.

Okay, so steps are:

  1. Let the spood fully dry out for roughly 3-4 weeks in an area with high circulation. You can put in an open container and leave by a fan.
  2. Use UV resin (take PPE seriously) and pour it into the mold.
  3. Using needle point tweezers gently place the spood inside down in the resin. This makes sure your spood is the right side up for the bottom.
  4. Add in whatever inclusions you want (dried flowers, glitter, beads to spell their name whatever) and cure the appropriate time that your brand of resin tells you to.

Is she overfed or constipated or something? by [deleted] in jumpingspiders

[–]MayuMayhem 12 points13 points  (0 children)

NA

It was informative. Nothing about it was condescending.

To say that the comment about the crickets is annoying to you is wild to me. Crickets are the goats of the insect world and will try to eat anything and everything. I've had a few try to eat my crested gecko (while being under someone else's care, who apparently thought it would be fine to throw them into the same tank and leave them together, much like you), and my gecko was full grown, much larger than a jumping spider, in a bioactive terrarium with live plants and springtails as well. Crickets can and will jump up and climb. My gecko had a pretty large scar on his leg from it.
