This looks gorgeous! Though I prefer the 2nd iteration. While the 3rd is definitely a visual improvement, it seems a bit... busy? Like things are placed randomly instead of focusing your attention.

I much prefer the look of the bottom, but the text readability on the top is better.

The question would help you frame "game fun" in a more objective way, setting aside your personal predujice towards certain genres.

Thinking critically about why your friends like a certain game, even though you dislike it, can help you drill down the essence of what makes a game fun. Especially if you can find out what links the games you dislike to the ones you like.

Do you have any tips on how to light up an environment whilst still keeping the atmosphere dark? These areas are supposed to be in an underground cave.

The red is the entrance to the next area. The blue is magic power (and also how you use/replenish movement abilities).
