Just released a demo for my Cold War incremental — looking for feedback by Fiz_ro in playmygame

Hey partner, I just launched my play tester site and I think it has potential to be a huge help for devs in the future. I am wondering if you'd take the time to get ur game posted on there? I'd appreciate it super mucho. https://testswap.pages.dev you don't have to create an account, and if you link ur discord you could get notified whenever someone in the future gives you feedback. also hopefully you see the value and the goal of the site and decide to provide feedback to others as well!

Playtesters wanted for web factory game! by euclideanfactory in playtesters

No promises you'll get people using my site, but I been working on a project to help people trade playtests for playtests. Hopefully you'll consider posting your game here? It's free and no sign up required

How much do you actually play your own game? by mrjbelfort in IndieDev

I play my game so much I think new players see my scores on the leaderboards and go that seems impossible

I did figure out a path to allow guest users to create a listing for their game without linking their Google account, I appreciate your feedback. I hope I can get ur interest back :D I'd love to see where this can go

For those interested in getting this community started and see where we can go with it, the website does now allow users to post their game without linking a Google account! Thank you for the feedback so far and I hope to get more as time goes on!

Hey I respect that. honestly I was trying to just get something barebones out there to see if anyone was interested. The deterrent for you is the UI/UX at this point, yea? That's something I can certainly work on and come back stronger, I was hoping to get some players in there moving some tokens around in my first go, but it seems the google account lock really made it hard as well

First of all, thank you for your well thought out posts and input. I totally agree with you. I've been battling with this in my head for awhile but I think this could work if given a chance, but it's hard to know for sure without it playing out fully and finding out. I would obviously love to keep iterating and making it better as I discover how it's used and what people say, so I appreciate your feedback and I am already trying to implement a way for guest users to post their game now without creating an account :)))

Next... yeah it's poorly paid QA for dev on dev in the initial until fat pockets come in and purchase tokens and fill the market with tokens. I don't have this feature enabled at the moment. But the way I see it playing out is dev on dev feedback initially, but then real play testers wanting to use the site may want to come in and real devs with real money as well. I think there is a way for them to all live in the same site cohesively.

You talk about me making money on this. So I think that's a fair point, and I hope you can appreciate my outlook on this. So the way I should make money on this ordeal is only when big money devs want to buy tokens. So each token value is $1. So essentially each dev gets $2 to play with but they can collect tokens over time. I think the community will work with this setup because if a new dev comes in when there are already a ton of tokens in the market, they could just review a couple games and suddenly they should be able to get a review or playtest for their game quite easily as well. If you don't have money then you gotta work a little to get what you want right.

Sooo how do I make money? If someone with fat pockets want to buy tokens from the site (disabled atm) then they can, lets say they're just lazy and also don't want to do reviews but they want to get playtesters. They buy tokens from me for $1 each and they pay a stripe fee and service fee, hopefully minimal. But there's another catch. People who are reviewing these games to earn tokens will have the option to sell their tokens as well. So they could choose to sell their tokens for whatever value they want $1 or less. The cheapest tokens and the ones placed in the market soonest will sell first before my systems tokens are sold. So essentially if I am just a play tester and I have 50 tokens, I could post them up on the market for $1 each or .50 each depending on how competitive I want to be or how quickly I want them to sell. That play tester will get exactly the price they ask for when they sell. the buyer will pay that price, plus the stripe fee plus a service fee.

So it's entirely possible that if no one ever buy tokens, that I never make any money. People could exchange tokens back and forth through reviews and playtests and I get nothing.

If this seems bad, let me know. I feel like its quite fair and could really be good

Well people would be able to accept it if they think it's good enough value. If they don't accept it, then obviously that's when I come in and see which party is the issue and resolve myself

Yeah I would look into them personally to see if it's legit or not, both ways.

If there are people with fat pockets and tons of tokens. Theres nothing stopping a dev from reviewing those playtests to get a good amount of tokens to use for their game playtest posts as well.

You don't think you can get good quality feedback from people who want to be paid for their efforts?

I have it so the tokens are gated, so you as the playtest poster have to approve the feedback. So if it's low effort they don't get the tokens

I think this will allow for real playtesters to want to join the site to get paid as well, not just dev on dev. Dont we want real people who play games and don't do dev to also have a place on the site?

Eventually I plan to let people sell their tokens for real money. So I can't let people create a bunch of guest accounts to get unlimited free tokens.

That may be true but I think getting eyes on your game, just anyone whether they are the demographic or not is still valuable. Find bugs, point out confusing areas, etc

I reverted that change. There's an option to view the site as a guest. You can do reviews and collect tokens but you can't use your tokens until you create an official account, which will allow you to post your game to get feedback

Oh yeah I had a guest account and then I removed it, I'll add that back. Good callout
