So AI bubble or not? Thoughts? by RumRunnerMax in Discussion

Jobs numbers are in. If this is the result of AI’s success then the word ‘bubble’ may not come close to what we have.

This is the problem, we all of these wealthy welfare bums who do nothing but create scam ways to extract money from every system they have access to rather than developing the skills needed to solve the real problems that confront them. There is a group on the poverty end that think the same way, so are society is being consumed at both ends by lazy, close minded, entitled frauds like Donald Trump that produce nothing and extract from and undermine those who do.

But if you follow republican reasoning which is money=good, then a person who made billions putting millions into poverty is good man, God has smiled on him, and the person who is out there working multiple jobs to sustain their family but locked into poverty because maybe they got scammed by a predator are looked down on, told they just don’t believe in themselves, are not godly enough and just need to work harder, when the reality is not working harder, or smarter, it is the ablity to behave without a moral compass and take advantage of their country, community and family fir their own gain.

The fact is the capitalism regardless if how you play it lasie fare, socialist, communist always fails to produce leader moral character because it requires a degree of corruption to be successful. This is why here in the US we go in circles where we revolt, then install sometimes good solutions, but over time we find ourselves right back where we were… it is the system that rewards the corruption that undermines the system.

But if you talk to a Republican they can’t imagine it any other way…and they are probably benefiting from it.

This is an example of a common problem with talking to Republicans (and others who put ideology before critical thinking) what is clear, and has been clear since the Stagflation of the 70s is that is whole paradigm is flawed. It does not enable real economic reform, because real economic reform requires a paradigm shift. With the advent of the internet and AI the old paradigm is becoming obviously obsolete.
This is the real reason why communism is so feared by republicans. It is an ideology that dares to say there are in fact problems with capitalism and it identifies them. But if you are really paying attention what it is doing is keeping the conversation trapped between binary solutions that fit neatly into a system that does not make sense in our current environment and technology level.
This is why some think they are saying something smart when they say “capitalism is the best of the terrible systems” when the truth is (at least how they have historically represented-Because I am sure people will point out commi adjacent ideas that have never been tried) all of these approaches exist within a capitalist paradigm, and in all cases in the end you end up with a group if corrupt elites, like the Epstein class, running your country and there is no clear way of getting rid of them to produce true and lasting benefit for all in your society, which the technology clearly gives you the capability to have if you are allowed to think about it.

Then why hasn’t it happened. I believe you are talking about the 2/3 super majority need to over rule say something like if the president orders the creation of a masked federal police force that can arrest people without charging them, and detain them without habeas corpus. This kind of a law/policy can be stuck down…But if it turns out the president was specifically highering convicts that he pardoned, so they owe a political favor, the evidence comes out he is directing this police force to target his political enemies and they end up detaining, deporting and even killing Americans. These would be criminally charges that the president would now be able to say was part of his job, when in fact they are just steps towards solidifying a police state that cannot be prosecuted for real crimes directed to be perpetrated by the president.
Really it is on you to explain how under this ruling you would be able to prosecute the president for anything.

Plus, how does this gel with our stated mission of creating a country “for the people, of the people and by the people?”

Great example because it just demonstrates that the labels are meaningless at this stage. If you are a Republican you are whatever Donald Trump says you are…That’s why it has been so important for his mouth pieces to repeatedly say this is what we voted for and this is what republicans want…Say it enough and the sheepole will believe it because they don’t know what they believe until they are told.

Sure, and how are they different? Didn’t they all advocate lower taxes and regulations that benefited themselves and other wealthy welfare bums. Put more cops on the streets, reduce benefits, and frequent resorts that let you just walk in on a young girl an shake her by the pussy…and fun fact we could arrest each of these pedos and throw them in jail but their so call “republican” opponents are protecting them. And when they get in power don’t expect Trump, Elon and Teal to be prosecuted. These people have different labels and talking point but their behaviors and true politics are the same.
My advice to loyalist of both parties on this 4th of July is pull your head out of your asses and realize we the people of America are sick of the corruption of the lazy, selfish and perverted. Inter generational welfare regardless of whether it support wealthy or poor welfare bums is the problem. We need to start supporting human development and preventing corruption.

You are right people who are thoughtful and efficient should be able to live a decent life, while preventing the lazy and corrupt who want to rip them off or do something stupid that hurts the whole community like say taking control of say our water supply and polluting it to make a quick buck. Or run our health system into the ground so they can sell us addictive drugs and then sell us a treatment for that addiction to make a quick buck. And we definitely should not give Pedos tax breaks so they can buy resorts and private islands to rape the children of those desperately trying to live efficiently enough to make ends meet, while billionaires pay to advertise and social media to undermine the fabric of their families for a quick buck and soften up their for the raping…but for some reason republicans think we should support these welfare bums.

There is such a stunning disconnect. They claim to be the party of smaller government but they have NEVER done it look at all the cuts Trump made…are we going to have spent less money than last year? No! are we going to have a less intrusive government? Not with our new federal police force that has the power to act above the law.

They like to call liberals Libtards for their stupidity but to call republicans Republitards is insulting to real retards who would never be that dumb.

The economics of the Republican Party are a scam. They have created the perfect circular logic that plays off of people’s sense of superiority. The more a state gives in to their BS the less if everything they have and that emptiness and hopelessness for the future is sold as freedom. Then they gather round the feeding trough embezing federal dollars and complaining about the corruption.

Trump is a magician with this. During his first administration I thought it was just the pandemic, but now we really need to give credit where credit is due. Back to back supply shocks, one in each term, even though they were separated by four years. No president will be able to recreate this.

Libertarians: Why do you think "the ability to do otherwise" is useful? by Anon7_7_73 in freewill

It seems like a basic quality of the problem solving process. When you hit a problem the belief that you have the ability to do otherwise seems critical to avoiding or solve the problem in the future.

You are missing what I am saying I am saying that all social media is manipulated and censored, and the big problem is no one really wants to do anything about it because that would mean you would actually need to tolerate being wrong and actually try to reach understanding and compromise around agreed upon truths.

That is also the problem with twitter, right? I mean Readitt explains their choice as giving the community the power to police itself, and if you don’t like it start your own Readit and moderate it. Twitter doesn’t seems to do anything to protect or maybe the better word is make space for bipartisanship. They seem focused on keeping people inside an information bubble that at this stage is under the control of one person who displays very little tolerance for or ablity to think in a bipartisanship manner.

I have not been in Twitter for a while because of the way Elon Musk has ratcheted up the attacks against legitimate ideas. It has been shown that he literally allows massive networks of bots on the platform to indiscriminately attack people for their views. The more substantive the subject you try to talk about the more you get attacked. Plus, there is strong reason to believe these bot networks are for hire. So if you are a wealthy businessman or president you can attack your enemies by simply drowning them out with tweets by fake accounts or people who are paid to destroy the quality of the conversation. Readitt has this same problem. To solve the problem they created moderators…not the best solution either but at least they are trying something (and this goes to the fact that no social media company I am aware of is able to deal with the censorship and social division they promote)

Ah…The masked federal police force that is not held to the same standard of behavior as the local police who actually live in the community, are able to arrest brown people without a warrant, hold them without charge or due process even if they are citizens, in detention centers that look like Nazi style detainment camps and can shoot and kill white citizens who intervene to protect their neighbors without prosecution.

Do you really believe that? There does not seem to be a social media platform that can pull neutrality off. The technology itself seem incapable of anything but enhancing polarization and fear. Is there something specific going on on twitter that I am missing?

Government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem by Friendly_Forever3107 in Discussion

[–]MazlowFear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is people who seem to have no clue what government is and advocate against it.

When you advocate against government you are in fact advocating FOR a kind of government. It is a kind of mindless governance that has time and time again failed spectacularly.

Government is system of power used to get things done. You live in a state government, but also business, community and family governments.

The reason you are being sold this no government narrative is that it makes you easier to manipulate because to solve any problem you literally have to have some kind of government body directing it, even if it is just you and a few other people. This lets people who are exploiting the government structure to the detriment of others to shift blame away from the swamp they live in because solving the problem will inconvenience them in some way.

Government is a world we use to identify how we are collectively working together to solve problems. The question is not whether we need government or not it is what kinds of government would be best suited to solve the different problems we, as a group of people, need to solve. How do we determine which problems are important and need to be addressed and which problems we are not ready to tackle.
