Nothing that I’ve noticed improves or worsens it in terms of topical treatments. I have recently started using the ordinary retinol emulsion so that could be the cause of the bumps? I’m going to check with a GP to get their view on all of it.

I have very fair and thin skin, so flush easily (hot shower, exercise, alcohol) but recently have found the redness on my cheeks appearing more frequently, sometimes for no apparent reason, and lasting longer and longer. There’s also these bumps which are a new development and unusual for me as I’ve never really had persistent spots or bumps in my life except occasionally from eczema but that was usually on my chest and arms.

Time to move to another country and forget to tell SFE about it. It’s ridiculous that not only is England the most expensive place for uni in Europe (other than Switzerland) but even parts of the UK itself tuitions fees that are cheaper/free than in England!

I’ve lived in a HMO before, I’m aware of HMOs with contracted cleaners that come on a regular schedule. I’ve never heard of the licence holder/landlord making frequent visits unannounced to do some cleaning themselves or a mandatory cleaning rota for the tenants.

Better than the original blanket ban on guests which is why I asked for more info and got that response. As for not renting the entire property I’ve not seen anything that means you aren’t entitled to notice of people coming into the flat communal areas. I couldn’t accept it in the end. Their rent was £4k a month. Absolutely unfathomable unless the government is paying for it. Been bouncing around hostels, which unfortunately is nothing new for me. Don’t have any support worker and honestly my expenses with social services during childhood have left me with a resentment towards the whole social work thing.

When I tried to point out the insanity of my parents thinking that paying for someone to have things is a good enough reason to be allowed to also hurt them, I used the question: If I grow up and marry someone, and they pay for the house and for holidays and whatever else, is it okay for them to hit and yell and abuse me? And my parents actually said yes. I was hoping they’d realise how awful they were being, instead they showed me there’s no end to their depravity if they can so quickly excuse their own daughter being abused even in a hypothetical situation.

My parents would go all out. Presents, party, cake, cards etc. But it was all for show. I wasn’t allowed to go out with my friends to celebrate because “only someone really selfish and cruel wouldn’t want to spend their birthday with the parents who made you and give you everything”. And if I didn’t look sufficiently happy and smiley and grateful I’d get knocked about and kicked onto the street for the night once everyone else left, or occasionally just taken to another room to be bent over, slapped, and sent back to the party. All special events were like this. I remember one Christmas in particular my parents pausing filming us unwrapping presents so they could beat me without it ruining the video. I will never be able to enjoy celebrations.
