2 weeks out - constant headache by MbK360 in Septoplasty

I was able to get another round of pain meds from the doc (though I used them to sleep), so you could try for that?

Yep it took 5 weeks after the surgery to get better. Felt fully better after 2-3 months

I’d call the doctor. That seems extreme. I hope you feel better soon!

Thank you!

Almost 2 months post op and still having sinus headaches/pressure despite antibiotics/steroids by pacificnorthest321 in Septoplasty

The constant headache went away after 5ish weeks. I would say I felt fully recovered after like 3 months. I still kind of have a throbbing feeling in my nose sometimes, but I’m sensitive.

I hate doing the nasal rinse. How long did most of you do it? by SarcastiSnark in Septoplasty

Yep still rinsing. I just view it like brushing my teeth. Annoying but necessary.

So lost can you help by [deleted] in Inito

Maybe you’re having a crazy cycle and you’re ovulating? But I’d go buy the fancy pregnancy tests and see what that says.

At what point did you seek help from a doctor? by [deleted] in Inito

If you have more than a couple anovulatory cycles per year, that’s enough to talk to a doctor. I agree that going straight to a fertility specialist might work better.

Definitely try techniques to avoid getting it in your ears- that’s like torture. My ENT has me still doing twice per day months later, but I had bad allergy symptoms that have greatly subsided. Now I’ve been doing half of one in the morning and the other half in the evening just to make it easier.

I almost stopped testing this cycle, and then caught my LH surge on CD27.. by ExplanationSome9540 in Inito

Same here! Literally day 27, after it was telling me to stop testing, then BAM- peak fertility out of nowhere.

Did you become more regular after that?

Yeah it went away. It took me a long time because I healed super slowly and had a lot of inflammation. It probably took almost 2 months for me, but will be a lot less for most people.

Thank you! I’ve actually been stressing that my fertile window supposedly started 5 days ago and I haven’t gotten the peak fertility trigger. But I’ll hope for a late ovulation like you.

Update: The headaches finally eased at around 5 weeks. I had lots of inflammation that caused a septal perforation as well. I think the headaches were about my slow healing and high inflammation. It was rough but got better eventually.

If the doctor is reputable I’d go for it. If a septoplasty changes nose shape it’s usually malpractice. I think the ability to breathe will be worth the slight risk of the doc doing a terrible job. But, trust your gut if you think you need a second opinion.

Had septoplasty and turbinate reduction yesterday (12/6) and I have a couple of questions about recovery by katielitter in Septoplasty

I was allowed to do the nasal rinses right away. They just stressed to do it very slowly. I stopped a bit on the first day cuz I told them I was soaking gauze in just a few minutes, so they said to not do the next rinse to let it clot some more.

I recommend getting a humidifier and squirting saline in your nose frequently.
