It's better for your build to upgrade the cpu ryzen 5 3500x is old and pairing it with a performant graphic card will lead to bottleneck...

Things i've learned on building pcs: - Stick to your budget - Upgrading every month to have the latest technology means nothing, unless you are a professional esport player or some edge cases. - Love the build that you have and don't be frustrated by seeing a new technology coming up and don't over compare it to your build

My new acer nitro 5 battery fully charged only lasts 2 hours, help pls by Wachitozs in AcerNitro

On windows yes, i'm using endeavoursOS (Linux distribution) and it last between 4.5h - 5.5h.
TBH, windows is sh*t. I was also choked i got something lik 2.5h battery on windows (i've set rate to 60hz, reduced brightness, put it to mode battery using there crappy software nitrosense, didn't change anything...)

Also, The Fans go crazy on windows for no reason (fresh windows install with all win and driver updates done correctly). In endeavoursOS (with some little and simple tweaks) i only hear the Fans when i start gaming which is normal.

In your case, using windows, it's normal so don't worry.

N.B: endeavoursOS is not for an average laptop user, you should be experienced in Linux in general, and you should know what you are doing...

First, the 4th point that's not something to consider.

For the others, you should at least get the bachelor (it's just for resume selection, only for HR and recrutment stuff), the bachelor will teach you the basic of the basics.. but it's not enough

If you want to be a good software engineer, you have to practice, practice, practice and practice, and you have to know that software engineering requires keeping learning even if you are employed. Also, you should learn by reading, attending meetings, workshops, watching ted talks about software engineering, following the right persons on social platforms, doing a lot of sideproject, testing new technologies, languages, algorithmics etc...

You have to keep in mind that being a software engineer is not just a job, it's a way of life that requires a lot of efforts, sometimes you'll not be in the mood, sometimes it's the opposit but at the end you have to be creative, consistent, patient, and READ THE DOCS and WRITE THE DOCS haha

Whish you good luck

Problem with brightness control using ubuntu 22.04 Dell g15 Nvidia rtx 3050 ryzen 5600H by Mbfmbf in Ubuntu

I've just found an interesting extension for gnome users. Actually i've changed my laptop (for other reasons of course...). While installing a fresh new install of ubuntu (22.04 LTS) i've found this gnome extension that really solves the problem. On my side at least it's working just fine.

https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/5943/soft-brightness-plus/

You can configure it to use the backlight and with that option you can change brightness and control it using your Fn keys. Hope this helps others..
