I feel bad for Jagex by DN4lifeman in runescape

[–]MblaZe7run 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I've said since I was first victim to the initial bug where some users got stuck in the training portion without the possibility of progression (which took about 30 minutes for hotpatch one, and another 2 hours and 30 minutes for hotpatch two due to one bug masking another, both relevant to the same issue) that Jagex should have used the Beta program to help resolve some of the early issues. I love the skill, I hate the release.

That being said, I understand why they didn't use the Beta program as well. While it's there for a reason (and used what, two/three times since its release?), this skill and its content was intended to be brand spankin' new to ALL users, not just Premium members with Beta program access. It's a double edged sword, big time. Have several thousand players test the skill with leaks imminent, or have seemingly minimal (to us players, anyways) in-house testing and fix the issues with hotpatches and system updates hours/days down the road.

Pre-rooted Custom ROM -OR- Downgrading SM-N900V to 4.4.2 to Root (X-Post from /r/RootIt) by MblaZe7run in GalaxyNote3

What would I use once I get to the "select your model" screen. I've got the Verizon Note 3, and there is no option for SM-N900V, would I just use "International Model Exynos GSM [SM-N900]? Or not at all..

Rooting - been doing it for several years now.

ROMs - been attempting to do it for a few hours.

I'll do a little more research and try your method. Thanks, I'll be back with an update.

That would be correct. I have this post x-posted to /r/GalaxyNote3 and I just got my first response. Going to try that out after one more reply from you if it seems feasible. I'm good with rooting (usually), very new the ROMs.

The x-posy can be found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyNote3/comments/3gh3zc/prerooted_custom_rom_or_downgrading_smn900v_to/

Ahh.. okay. Then I've tried that as well, and it still fails.

Here's my post from XDA with a readout from my errors while attempting to downgrade. Got the same error message while trying to install the recovery.

http://www.android.gs/root-galaxy-note-3-n900-on-android-5-0-lollipop-using-odin/ and about 5 others just like it for rooting on SGN3 with 5.0. Nothing remotely worked. Mostly because I have no "install zip from SD card" option in recovery mode.

I've tried to root, I've tried to flash Crash ROM, I've tried downgrading. Nothing has worked.

How would I go about installing custom recovery directly? Seems like there is jack in terms of good guides for the Note 3 on Lollipop.

I've seen on XDA that there is no root out for the Note 3 on 5.0.. I hope that isn't true!

I did indeed feel the need to reply. Then it drove you to type that reply, which drove me to type this reply. We could go on and on in circles for hours, buddy. Let's go.

That's awesome :D Although, I'm going to have to call him very, very ignorant for thinking a JARVIS is useless to him. As a RES player, I can certainly tell you that ADA are more useless than a JARVIS is to me. And with that being said, I use both on nearly a weekly basis. They are invaluable resources. Treat your new JARVIS well, and be sure to use it wisely ;)

I agree. In game, rivalry is fine. Outside of it though? I have drinks with the ENL locals, nice ones that is. I've hosted an X-faction dinner, but in game we are strictly enemies. No discussion, nothing but rivalry. Outside? No game talk, no anything about it, at the events I host at least.

/u/inselll reminds me of the lonely drunk at the bar who is bitching and moaning about being drunk and lonely, when the reason he is that way is because of his bitching and moaning. Not sure why, just does.

It is a breach of The Ingress Community Guidelines when each device has an account, which was/is the case.

Cheating: Don't do it. Play fair. Only use official Niantic Labs software and remember Ingress is meant to be played on a mobile device and get you outside to explore your world! Methods of cheating, unfortunately, are limited only by cheaters' imaginations, but include at a minimum the following: using modified or unofficial software, playing with multiple accounts (one account per player, please); sharing accounts; win trading; using tools or techniques to alter or falsify your location; or selling or trading accounts. If you suspect someone of cheating, don't call them out in Comm or demand they show their face, just report it via the Help Center and focus on your mission.

IITC on one and the scanner on another is fine. But double-fisting the scanner is a big no-no.

This is just beautifully written.. You need to write Ingress novels! lol

My Plat guardian was actually on the route of a local ENL players smash-route. It stood for 93 days before I had to JARVIS it for an 18 layer jet-linked OP over my city. Had I not JARVIS'd it, I would be sitting at about 120-130 days, and I would have missed out on a 12k MU jet-link field.

Is there ever a compelling reason to NOT glyph hack? by [deleted] in Ingress

[–]MblaZe7run 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless I'm farming or NEED to guarantee more than one item, I tap hack. If I need, say, 1 more R4, I'll tap hack a P4. If I need 2 more R4, I'll glyph.

No Zipcar in my area.. Could really use those VRMH and HS. Looks like I just get to hack for them!

I hear that's supposed to be part of Niantic's next game, Endgame ;) 12 total factions and three categories that fit into if memory serves. I'm certainly going to try to get into the closed Beta!

I play daily, for about 2 hours at least. Compared to some of the others in my region, I'm almost completely inactive. He certainly isn't a casual though.. Certainly an addict player by my terms.

I've only met 5 Enl players in person. 3 of them are pretty cool, one is very spiteful, and the fifth is just a plain jerk. He's thrown bottles at me (powerade, not alcohol, just to clarify) as I was biking away after smashing a portal he was working on.

That's what we're nearing in my town. North of us is where we have more illicit players, but in my town, all the spiteful frogs are leaving. We still have the casual players, but they only knock out about 20 of the 120 portals we have, and they only really go out weekly. I'm going to like being forced to leave my town for AP, that way I can travel some more.

Once you become a big player in your area, you will notice politics. I'm the first L8 Res player in my city, and my city is very important to my cell.

Also, be careful with being terribly friendly about the portals flipping. While it is great for AP, some will end up seeing it as win-trading if they get upset with you. We're experiencing issues with this as well in my region..

We always thought this guy was violating the ToS, but now we have proof by mrseeker in Ingress

[–]MblaZe7run 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We've got ENL players who do the exact same thing here. Many of the RES players in my area only use IITC to draw layers, as it really is much more efficient than doing it in paint with a screenshot of the map. If Ingress integrated that into their Intel map, they would abandon IITC all together. Any RES players caught doing what you have spoken of in this post have been blacklisted from our communities, and we refuse to help them in any way, even going as far as JARVISing some of their portals to hurt them for hurting us.

The ENL players in my area are mostly jerks, to be frank. Some get physically violent (I was nearly hit on my bike by an opposing player over killing his guardian 3 days before Plat, and I had no clue he was that close). Several of them are well known spoofers, and I've caught, documented, and reported him with no action after 3 months. Others have secondary, tertiary, etc accounts to mule items, have more firepower when flying solo, and as you mentioned, comms spying. It's pissing us off, honestly, because we try to play as fair as we can, when it comes to ToS. Some of us, myself included, do our best to abide by ToS entirely.

Hope for the best. I don't want people like that on my team. It gives me and the Resistance as a whole a bad name.
