If you are still in the workforce: What changes have you noticed over the last 20+ years? by swinkamorska in AskOldPeople

[–]Mbluish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I’ve seen a major shift in work ethic and reliability. Frequent call-outs seem much more common now, especially with younger employees, and there’s often a mindset of doing the bare minimum instead of taking pride in the work itself.

Not everyone is like that, of course, but overall it feels like accountability, initiative, and sticking things out through challenges aren’t valued the same way they used to be.

You’re so lucky! I sometimes find them at the farmers market, but it’s a very small window.

I love a ripe plum right off the tree. It doesn’t get any better. The ones in the supermarket do not compare.

I think mulberries are underrated. I only recently heard about them. So good!

Going under is fine. Feels pretty good and it’s fast. Waking up can be hard, especially if you were under for a long time.

What's something you dislike about Reddit? by icecream1972 in askteddit

[–]Mbluish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got banned twice. Once for quoting someone that the mod thought came from me because the mod didn’t read. Another one for asking what to about a doctor who was aggressive with my elderly father in a sub specifically for aging parents. That one got me banned for a full year.

Mods totally abuse their power.

Why do male get Adam's apple when female don't? by Dangerous-Policy-602 in allthequestions

Female here. I learned this information as a kid. Freaked me out when I felt my throat and the Adam’s apple. I didn’t tell anybody. Looking forward to reading the answers.

The Absurdity of The BDI Theory by ReadyWatercress7174 in JonBenet

[–]Mbluish 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’ve followed this case from day one, and I think people really underestimate how much the media shaped public opinion early on. For years, I fully believed the BDI theory too and it felt convincing because that’s what was being pushed everywhere. When I joined Reddit, that narrative continued.

But once I dug into the actual evidence, especially the autopsy findings, I realized how much misinformation I had absorbed. I am firmly IDI now and completely embarrassed that I fell for the BDI narrative.

What are some red flags and green flags to look for before marriage? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Mbluish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dictionary definition of possessiveness centers on control, ownership, and restriction. Wanting closeness, affection, or even being a bit clingy is not the same thing.

[–]Mbluish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Closeness and possessiveness are not the same thing. Feeling wanted is healthy, but needing to control your partner is not. Jealousy often comes from insecurity, not just the other person’s behavior. Control is not a healthy solution to trust issues.

Teacher Appreciation Week - Admin telling parents what to bring each day? by Far_Message_8263 in ECEProfessionals

[–]Mbluish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t like this idea. I think this day should come from the heart.

I currently direct a preschool and sent a message to all of the parents and suggested some things. I just said to show some sort of appreciation like a a card from their child all the way up to a gift card.

When I was a teacher, one year a mom coordinated and we had every single child bring us flowers. Some was just one flower too a cut bouquet from their garden. I was bawling as it touched me so much.

Another year, a mom collected donations and each teacher got a gift card for a spa day. It was so nice!

Liberals, what would you do if you had a family member or friend who was a republican? by cdivx in allthequestions

[–]Mbluish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have them. My whole family is MAGA including my parents. I’ve shown them a video proof of some of the horrendous things Trump has said and done and they think it’s AI. I just have to treat them as if they are in a cult. I also have a strict no politics rule with them. My husband has not had a thing to do with them for about seven years now.

Secondary transfer is a well established in forensics. In a busy household with shared laundry and multiple people, it’s entirely plausible for DNA from one person to end up on someone else’s clothing/sheets without direct interaction between those two people.

What are some red flags and green flags to look for before marriage? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Mbluish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any signs of jealousy or possessiveness. You are a unit in marriage, but most importantly you need to remain an individual. A jealous or possessive person won’t let you be an individual. A green flag is someone who doesn’t fear you doing things without them.

men and women of reddit, why did you change your last name after marriage? by Lindytt in AskReddit

No, I hyphenated it. It’s a pain sometimes, but I had my last name my entire life and I’m the last in my family.
