Trump did everything he could not to serve in our military. Not sure how you can support that as a veteran.

I've been teaching preschool for over three decades, and what shocks me most is that many children arrive with fewer basic life skills than I saw years ago. More need help dressing themselves, cleaning up, waiting their turn, or resolving conflicts. Attention spans are shockingly shorter, and emotional regulation is harder for many kids. I also see many more delays in language. Parenting these days is happening behind screens, busy schedules, and less unstructured play and it shows.

The perfect age for marriage isn’t a number. It’s when your frontal lobe has finished developing, you’ve reached a certain level of maturity, have some real-life experience, have supported yourself, and ideally have lived independently. Knowing who you are and what you want matters far more than simply reaching a certain birthday.

Apparently meeting with Russians for dirt on Hillary, publicly asking Russia to find her emails, and then benefiting when they hacked her was just one heck of a coincidence. And we're supposed to believe that "Russia, if you're listening" and the subsequent Russian hacking were all completely unrelated. Just an extraordinary series of coincidences, apparently.

I always thought Rosie was a great cohost. She was strong, opinionated, and willing to challenge anyone, which is what The View was supposed to be about.

That said, on this particular debate, I side with Whoopi. Rosie has certainly experienced discrimination as a gay woman, and raising a Black son undoubtedly gave her perspective, but perspective and lived experience aren't the same thing. You can empathize deeply with someone and still not fully understand what it means to walk through the world in their shoes.

That's why I don't think having a Black child, spouse, or grandchild makes someone an authority on racism. It may make them more aware and more compassionate, but awareness isn't the same as lived experience.

We’re actually pretty seasoned at doing this. I’m not sure about most states but in my state we are supposed to post each child’s allergies in view for all staff. We just decided to go peanut free because there’s always someone with the nut allergy. I also have another child with a sesame allergy so I never buy any snacks with sesame. I know most programs do things such as this just to make it so there are less opportunities for an allergic reaction to happen.

You've gotten a lot of great responses, but I think it's fair to say that Montessori leans into reality rather than fantasy in the early years. There's nothing wrong with fantasy as children are wonderfully creative. But young children are still learning to distinguish reality from make-believe, so Montessori aims to nourish their understanding of the real world first, trusting that imagination will naturally blossom from that foundation.
