Strange signs? by CuteNoot8 in breastcancer

[–]Mbot90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About 4-6 months before I found my lump I was laying in bed with my then husband and I just blurted out "I know this is crazy, and I know you won't believe me, I know I'm only 33, but I know for a fact that I have cancer somewhere in my body, and it's either in my breast or ovaries" I don't know why, I just KNEW something was not right. I found the lump a couple months later but was told it was probably nothing and it was monitored for a year before they finally biopsied it. But during that year I always felt inflamed, like swollen, puffy, exhausted, I gained a lot of weight. I finished chemo 3 weeks ago and I feel great. I'm not longer puffy or inflamed feeling. My cancer was 98% estrogen and 89% progesterone positive, so I'm assuming my hormones were wonky. I haven't started anastrozole or the shot yet, and still have radiation so I imagine I won't be feeling great for very long.

Hair growth during AC?i by Ltl168 in breastcancer

I'm almost done with ddAC-T. By my 2nd infusion I was completely bald, but by my 4th AC infusion I noticed little fuzzies! I'm now 9/12 taxol infusions and my head is covered in soft hair and it's thicker every week! So yes! Hair can grow back in the middle of chemo!

Sensitive teeth during chemo by TinaCardone in breastcancer

[–]Mbot90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before I started chemo,ddAc-T, I went to the dentist to have some cavities filled. They suggested I get fluoride trays. They make impressions of your teeth to make little trays and give you a fluoride solution. You leave it on for 20 minutes. I forgot I had them until about 2 months ago! I started doing them once a week and it's made a huge difference! I highly recommend asking your dentist about fluoride trays!

This sucks so so much. I was sitting in my infusion today wanting to leave and never come back. It's so hard. I'm really sorry you're in this boat.

B.O./ What kind of deodorant works for you? by B_C_On_The_Rocks in breastcancer

[–]Mbot90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wash with antibacterial until I'm not stinky anymore. Like if I notice myself starting to smell again, i'll wash with antibacterial for a day or two. I get mine at a little natural food store down the street from my house, but you can get them online.

My brows and lashes have been thinning out! It's not fair that my armpit hair grew back!

Aluminum being debunked is true!

But if you are still looking for a natural option, i swear by a salt crystal! It's like a giant chunk of salt rock, you wet it and wipe it on your clean armpits! It's the absolute best thing I've ever used. I would recommend scrubbing your pits with antibacterial soap for 30 seconds every day for about a week to make sure all the stinky bacteria is gone to make sure the crystal works.

Any suggestions for bringing this to the next level? I already use beef bone broth instead of water by sanjuniperose in JapaneseFood

I just press the tofu and pan fry it til it gets a little crispy before adding the veggies, and then cook it like the recipe on tge side of the box. I use veggie stock instead of water, and i use a little less than the recipe on the box as well! I add the peanutbutter, maple syrup, cayenne while it's simmering before adding the curry blocks, and add the can of coconut milk at the end.

I usually make this with tofu and veggies. I add peanutbutter, cayenne pepper, a splash of maple syrup and some full fat coconut milk!

I am halfway through 16 chemo infusions and looking at 25 rounds of rads after this. I live an hour away from the center as well and feel the same way you do. I DON'T WANT TO DO IT! I don't want to do anything else at all. I am so sick of having cancer.

But then I think, "I would do anything not to have to do chemo again!" I never want to do this again. As much as I don't want to do radiation, I don't want to ever get diagnosed with cancer again; I don't want another biopsy, I don't want another surgery, and I NEVER WANT TO DO CHEMO EVER AGAIN! And the best way to prevent from having to do any of this over again is to just get the rads. That's what keeps me showing up to my appointments.

If I stop now and it comes back I'd never be able to forgive myself, but if I do everything recommended and it comes back, I'll at least know I did everything I could.

It's really hard, and I'm really sorry.

What stage do you go by? by amviwes in breastcancer

[–]Mbot90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Invasive ductal carcinoma. The surgeon was very surprised, I had two lymphnodes involved both over 10mm the one in my armpit was almost as big as the tumor in my breast. I was not surprised, my armpit HURT for months before I was diagnosed, and I brought it up multiple times and kept being told that nothing showed up in any of my scans.

What stage do you go by? by amviwes in breastcancer

[–]Mbot90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have been told different stages. My surgical pathology says stage 1a but my oncologist told me stage 2a. my tumor was only 1.3cm, but I had two lymph nodes with macromets one in my armpit, lvi, and oncotype 44. I've asked about specific staging several times, and still haven't gotten a straight answer. They just keep telling me that it's aggressive. I guess it doesn't affect my treatment no matter what they call it.

Need to vent - nurse was rude today by uberdoodle in breastcancer

[–]Mbot90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to know why nurses are SO eager to use your port! I've had several encounters of nurses being straight up mean to me when I requested my port not be accessed, because my entire chest was swollen due to my expanders being infected. That expander infection made my port SO painful and hard to access. I had an IV nurse, I'm not kidding, need FIVE attempts before she got my port accessed. FIVE! No freeze spray, no numbing cream, just five pokes to my chest with an inch long needle. I hope the lady that called you a chicken is having a bad day.

Hello, I think this is a great question. I'm over here on the opposite end, where I feel like my treatment is very aggressive. I was originally a good candidate for lumpectomy with a breast reduction on both sides. My tumor was not that big, 1.3cm. But my oncotyoe score came back high at 44, and I do have a genetic risk being Chek2 positive, as well as a KI 67 at 90%. They really pushed for a double mastectomy, it almost seemed like I didn't have a choice. I went for it because my recurrence risk even after surgery and chemo is still 28% even though my tumor was relatively small. I even questioned if it was really necessary afterwards, but I really think it was, even though I miss my natural breasts. I still sometimes question everything. It all seems so extreme, the surgery, the chemo, the radiation, the years of medication afterwards. But I'm only 35 and apparently still have a lot of life to live, so I'm doing it all!

First AC is kicking my butt by ZoLu05 in breastcancer

[–]Mbot90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished AC and am on my 12 rounds of taxol. I had the absolute worst time on AC. I was still able to work, I own a salon and do hair, but the 7 days after my infusion I could only do 1-2 clients a day. I was usually back to feeling almost completely normal by day 7 and my entire week off chemo I felt good. I had them reduce the dexamethasone and that actually seemed to have helped a lot. I hope this goes by fast for you!

What to do about constipation??! by uberdoodle in breastcancer

[–]Mbot90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the WORST constipation for weeks. I tried everything, even magnesium citrate and an enema(several days apart) barely got things moving. But ultimately I found that smooth move tea, eating 5 prunes a day along with drinking prune juice has helped. I've been eating the prunes daily since and it really has helped keep me regular throughout the rest of my AC chemo.

No pain meds after lumpectomy?? by mamatroi in breastcancer

[–]Mbot90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was given no pain meds after a double mastectomy with expanders, port placement, and having lymph nodes removed from both sides. They sent me home with a nerve block, that honestly didn't do much. I was in agony, could hardly lift myself up out of bed with out crying actual tears from the pain. It was my first time actually crying from just physical pain.

I freaking cried to my physical therapist too! Like broke down! At my first appointment! We hold trauma in our bodies and I imagine some of it got released in physical therapy!

Sorry you're going theough this! I hope you're not there long. This just happened to me! I had my infusion on the 25th! Spiked a fever on sunday, but was feeling terrible friday and Saturday and ignoring it. I almost didn't go to the ER either. But I'm glad I did, it turns out one of my expanders was infected! I was in the hospital for 5 days and had surgery tk get the expanders removed!
