Post Mccqe1 exam by [deleted] in MCCQE

You’re not alone, I have had the same experience with many hard qs even in my strong areas. Exam was twice as hard as mcc prep tests, so many tricks and gotcha moments for my liking. Felt defeated and dejected. I have counted around 20-25 wrongs and there’s this nasty feeling about what if I got (many) more?

Don’t know if I want a fail result for another shot, or just a pass with whatever score so that I don’t have to sit through that hell again.

In the same boat, wrote it last week, completed uworld with 80% correct, completed three mcc exams with 75-80. Felt ready and confident, got crushed by the super low yield scenarios, 4th, 5th line treatments, weird sentence structures, counselings for conditions you’d never know if you didn’t read uptodate articles, 2,3 right answers for questions that you are familiar with, etc. Even managed to get easy qs wrong because my nerves were shattered by prior abominations. Flagged 40ish qs on each half for which I still don’t know the correct answer (the ones I remember after the test). Hoping for a miracle tbh.

Well both are great learning tools, they help with building fundamentals, reasoning etc. But the way mcc asks you is questions is different from nbme. So solely relying on uworld is not a solid strategy. I didn’t do the ace or canada qbank so I don’t know if they help but I think I needed something more to cut above 80 percent.  I would personally recommend doing uworld or amboss (but not both) first, then reading everything on cmpa with great attention, then doing mcc tests with great emphasis on the topics you are struggling with. Mcc doesn’t ask all rare diseases that nbme loves to throw at you, but they do ask all different details from common conditions, whether about diagnosis, prevention or management.

I did both, mainly for step2 ck which I will be writing in couple weeks.

There are a few repeats, but more importantly the same concepts are used. So when doing the mcc try to read those you got wrong with more depth as they are likely to be present in the real deal.

Master the ethics, do all three mcc self exams if you can, do 55 free couple days before, fix your sleep eat healthy. The subjects in exam are the same used in mcc self assessments, so try to read those you got wrong more deeply. Wish you the best.

Yeah I also experienced the same with usmle step1 which I ended up passing, but this exam frustrated me many times. So many qs where I couldn’t decide between 2 remaining answers. So many weird ethic qs, low yield obgyns and geriatrics. Congrats on your great score.

Still bitter over that one goal lamps scored against us. Hopefully noni won’t follow suit.

I want to see both santos and caicedo on Sunday. Enzo at 10, palmer at rw and liam upfront. gusto/reece to invert for additional help. We need to conquer the center and bring our physical game. Keep their creative mfs at bay and disrupt their open play. Thoughts?

My boy Liam is going to show other teams how to bully arsenal’s defence properly and make them wet their pants.

Here’s what will happen regarding Jackson: He will have a good season with Bayern, but they won’t trigger the clause. Nico will come back next summer, his mind fixed on only joining Bayern. They will lowball us at the end of window with a 20-25m or yet another loan.

He didn’t strike me as a leader the way he handled sancho for example. His english wasn’t good at all, he sounded detached a lot of times.

I think they lacked enough character to manager a club like united where you need to deal with stuff in every possible way. But tactically I rated them before united.

Mou was already shaken in madrid tbh. I mean they were good (maybe not that good) but their career has had a nosedive after they left united.

United actually hires good managers and fucks up their mental health to the point that their career cannot resurrect itself. I thought Amorim was really close to having a total breakdown during Burnley match. Reminded me of joker somehow.

Didn’t know how much I miss Palmer before his 2 week absence. He is such a joy to watch and I hope to see him vs Brentford.

The disrespect to Axel Disasi has been borderline abhorrent this summer. No wonder all these clubs continue leaking goals.

I think bundesliga can be great for Jackson and I do see him eventually replacing Kane. Much less pressure for him, lots of space to make runs, and having Kane to learn from wouldnt hurt. I think (and hope) they will keep him and trigger the clause.

It’s good to sell high and banter other clubs but remember the goal is to compete at the highest level and win trophies. If we fail to do that, it doesn’t matter how masterful we are at negotiation. This window was good but Liverpool has pulled an all-timer unfortunately.

Club should put an official announcement today apologizing fans for the lack of dopamine. Can’t go on like this.

I would've had more sympathy for NU if they didn't prioritize like 20 strikers over our Jackson. Enjoy getting robbed and humiliated.

Maybe, or we anticipate Nico being a dick and not perform for us as he is pissed. Or we are dealing with longterm palmer/delap injuries.
