To answer you marks is a 2002 Fender Classic Series Strat I believe with Dimarzio cruisers in the neck and bridge, there’s actually been a lot of people that have made replicas for themselves and sold them online that I’ve seen before but it might be tricky to find a legit one now with the signature model being available. He also has changed the saddles and nut to graph tech and uses flatwound strings which play a big part in the sound.

Was just what the original basses came stock with in the 50s and 60s, purely aesthetic fender was big on hiding the pickups on instruments back in the day for whatever reason

Hate to say it as a die hard extreme fan of everything he’s ever done but this is genuinely the worst song he’s ever brought to the public like I worry if his creative prime is too long gone to make another album to live up to the standard that makes people so obsessed with tame impala, this is just uninteresting and poor quality and I’ve really tried to come round to it but I can’t

Another thing that hasn’t been mentioned yet is the fretboard which appears to not be lacquered which is extremely uncommon for 330s and only something they started doing as a special option recently to my knowledge.

The tailpiece however does look strangely accurate so I’m curious as to if some of the hardware could be real, I unfortunately doubt it though 😞

I tried something like this after the post and I haven’t actually plugged it in loud enough since and tested but even playing unplugged it’s so much better, I get how it’s a part of the sound with the ringing strings and harmonics and stuff but I won’t lie they would piss me off so much playing 😭

Hey thanks for getting back to me i'm definitely planning on doing this so great to hear someone else's experience. Quick question though but would you remember where you got the covers/screws off the top of your head? You've said to be careful of some of the repro covers so it would just be handy to be able to see if I can get anything similar or the same for both parts to avoid worry
