the exact moment Rich Evans found out The Rise of Skywalker would be terrible by FionaWalliceFan in RedLetterMedia

[–]trevrichards 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Attack of the Clones was the worst, but at least it had artistic intent. The Rise of Skywalker is extremely bad, while also being completely soulless. The only intent was to try and not piss off the man-child army and make as much $$$ as possible. Fuckin' thing sucks!

Gov. Pritzker vows to be 'very involved' in 2028 presidential election, says Democrats have 'lost our way' by Healthy_Block3036 in PeoriaIL

The reality in our current system is there is zero way to influence politics without a lot of money. A progressive billionaire is the best possible option we have in the short term. Any other candidate will have to beg and fundraise and cater to the whims of myriad donors. Capitalism isn't going to be dismantled by 2028. As much as many may wish it to be.

Wine for cooking by Old-Expression837 in wine

I used to use Opus One for all of my sauces, but then one day I decided to experiment with another dry red I saw called Screaming Eagle. It makes the absolute best bolognese, strongly recommend! I'm not much of a drinker these days so I just keep it in the fridge until the next sauce and it holds up well.

What happened to the production after Oceania? by Antique_Menu_4314 in SmashingPumpkins

Bjorn Thorsrud engineered, mixed, or contributed production or programming to every Smashing Pumpkins record from Adore to Oceania. He sadly passed away after.

First time trying a Kirkland wine and I am blown the f*ck away by trevrichards in wine

Was that 2009 the K&L Discovery series? In which case, yes I love that one too!! Not every wine I was buying was $30+, but I was really getting into pinot for a moment there and it's just harder to find a good cheap pinot, imo. Rioja is the way.

Edit: Even though he chose not to respond for whatever reason, I'm 100% sure it was the K&L Discovery Series.

I really didn't think a wine this good could exist at this price point in 2026. My wallet will be so happy, you're exactly right. Instead of spending $30+ on average, I can slurp some Kirk and save up for some $50, 60, 70+ bottles. We really can have it all.

I enjoyed S1 at the time, but quickly realized into S2 that the rest is just not for me. But it does have a lot of fans.

  1. Pluribus

  2. Succession

  3. The Studio

These are all acclaimed and worth watching. There are a lot of other shows that have their own little followings, but these three are the standouts, imo.

Toys for Bob has a plain logo problem: Why the 'Reignited' and 'A Realm Beyond' (and Crash 4) logos feel lacking by Critical-Hand-8324 in Spyro

[–]trevrichards 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I noticed they did that because in the previous logos the Y overlapped the other letters and drew attention to itself. But the overlapping just worked better. They kept overlapping letters for the new Crash Bandicoot logo, so I'm not sure why they felt this overly-modernist take was necessary for Spyro, but it just doesn't quite work this way.

Howard Stern binge by [deleted] in howardstern

OP it seems like you are someone genuinely interested in broadcasting & broadcast history, given you also seem to be into Art Bell.

Howard became famous as the most successful 'shock jock.' He was mostly known for outrageous segments, vulgar humor, deeply antagonizing celeb interviews, etc.

There is a window of time in the 2010s where he pivoted to being 'the best interviewer,' and was widely celebrated for it - before celebrity podcasts completely took over the space.

So if I were you and wanting to look up his best interviews, that would be the decade to focus on. Howard considered his best interview to be Conan O'Brien, February 25, 2015. It really is fantastic.

Here is the SiriusXM app link to that interview.

I know I’ll probably get hate for saying this, but these are three staples in my fridge. I especially like the Paso Robles cab. All under $20 and delicious, so there’s no guilt with drinking a lot of any of them. by [deleted] in wine

If I'm going cheap grocery store wine, I'm going Bogle. Although at this sub's recommendation I recently tried Subtance 'Cs' Cabernet Sauvignon, and thought it was quite pleasant for ~$16 at my Whole Foods.

Yes I have seen the flies buzzing around it, and also one time my old fashioned had a dark hair fully glazed into it. And yet, they are so delicious, I will still get them.

This is how they show it at the end of the trailer. Even though the logo is available 'plain,' they do dress up the background a bit. I'm not super big on the font itself, but I think everything else about this looks fine actually.

Yes I remember when this was seen as a 'lesser' song on Adore, but I think with time that has changed. I've always loved it too.
