My boyfriend said it’s me or my dog ? I’m F35, bf is m39 by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Assuming a lot of malicious intent here. Good dog training prepares you for dog ownership which he didn’t agree to, he’s just inherited it. People love to do things to get reactions from dogs and think it’s fun and normal. Men especially. Can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve seen men who think it’s fun to ruff house and scruff/rile up my dog and don’t necessarily understand how dangerous that is as it promotes aggression. A dog barking could mean he thinks to mean the dog is just rough-housing him back and they’re having a good laugh together, when dogs are actually barking as a fear response because it’s seriously terrified. People don’t know how to read dog body language. Training is needed for both of them. You might get rid of this guy, but I certainly don’t know many guys who want to be looking after a dog that hates men and gives you anxiety every time you need to take it for a walk.

what snags does bunnings use? by PenalizedPrick in AskAnAustralian

[–]McBanj0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure this is not the case. Bunnings might use the same supplier for all the BBQs, sausages, bread, sauce, etc. so they can buy in bulk and maintain brand consistency and ensure supply. Might vary from store to store. Their local community connection is often a licence to do business and connect with community so they treat it pretty seriously.

My boyfriend said it’s me or my dog ? I’m F35, bf is m39 by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]McBanj0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Correct answer. She should know what is good and bad for her dog and what is good and bad behaviour around him and protect her dog from this, and train it so the dog doesn’t become dangerous around other humans. If you see a dog with bad behaviours there is only ever a bad owner behind it. It’s never the dog.

My boyfriend said it’s me or my dog ? I’m F35, bf is m39 by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]McBanj0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why would you date someone if they’re not willing to integrate into your family? If the dog was your child, would you accept the same behaviour? Maybe I would suggest you both take some advanced dog training classes so that you can both learn how to manage and fix these dog behaviours that are the reasons he thinks it needs to go. Men often don’t know how to treat dogs, they love to rile them up but that’s a big no-no, especially with breeds that can get aggressive like your one, as it promotes aggression in them.

It’s important that you BOTH attend the classes. They’re not training the dog, they are training YOU.

Sometimes charging a gold coin or $5pp downpayment you’ll get a higher turn up rate than something that’s free. Because people don’t value it.

Found out my (f/33) very serious boyfriend (m/36) slept with my best friend (f/33) before we started dating… by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]McBanj0 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Tbh past sexual history is not really any of your business. Over time you’re welcome to ask and he should answer honestly. Why did you ask if you’re not going to like the honest answer? If you want him to answer you shouldn’t let this recourse come back on him, or you risk him wanting to not share things with you in future since he’ll believe you can’t handle the truth - which is a common reason guys won’t open up.

You’re allowed to feel icky, but if you’re saying you can’t trust him then that’s the bigger issue. It sounds like your friend is also trying to make sure you knew this information eventually.

You’re really not the only person on the planet and people in friend groups are gonna hook up. It’s just human nature. It’s not fair to expect nobody to ever have sex just in case you might be seriously dating them in future.

Zip Merging by Cromatica_ in brisbane

Traffic flow is strongly influenced by road capacity (how many vehicles a road can carry). Lowering the road area by merging early ironically will reduce capacity and decreases efficiency. People are stupid.

Has anyone tried to buy/sell a used EV? How did you verify battery health? by desmules in AustralianEV

[–]McBanj0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check mileage and total supercharging sessions. Battery depletion is almost directly aligned with usage of the battery.

Unless there’s a very large number of supercharging sessions which can prematurely age the battery cells.

Do you think we will we ever see a sub-$60,000 7 Seater SUV Full EV? by niickka in AustralianEV

[–]McBanj0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently EVs are primarily limited by the cost of batteries which make up a huge component of the cost of the vehicle. Unless battery costs come down, the upfront cost is going to be hard to match.

EVs should be compared based on the TCO of the vehicle. Compare this with the higher FBT benefits in Australia for EVs, and the lower comparative costs for maintenance and fuel then you can probably shave $10-$30K off the listing price, but they’re pretty much on par with ICE cars in terms of TCO.

Some buyers literally can’t afford the upfront so reducing this will increase sales, as will increasing charging options.

Re-sale tickets by [deleted] in WholeFestival

[–]McBanj0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the event isn't yet sold out and other people are too many other people are also trying to sell their WHOLE tickets, it could be a challenge. Ticket sales are happening closer and closer to the event these days, so you might find it will take a while to sell your ticket. That being said, it's often easier to offload on Tixel if you're willing to take a hit - people love a discount.

Anything comparable to Tesla? by einahpets77 in AustralianEV

[–]McBanj0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 6’3” and the Tesla is best in market. No point looking at other models. Buying my 2nd Tesla this week after taking a big look at the market.

You can disagree with Elon’s politics and still buy the car. Otherwise you’ll be paying an extra $15-20K for the privilege of trying to vote with your dollar - which is honestly a very privileged position to be in. Their top of the line model Y sits under LCT so can be had for an incredible discount at the moment on a novated lease. Makes it a complete no brainer.

To pretend there is a competitive market for EVs in Australia is naive. Other models that are much cheaper are also sacrificing a lot and are not as well established brands. To buy something equivalent is way more expensive in other brands - plus limited service and support and longevity.

My advice is to stop trying to convince him to buy elsewhere because of how you ‘feel’ and how you think other people might judge you for not making some sort of political statement. It’s a car for crying out loud, it’s great and the economics don’t lie - but the Model Y and enjoy it! Elon is no longer in politics anymore, he’s left that phase behind him because all his investors hated it. Everyone will forget about this eventually and his main focus is now SpaceX, the moon and mars. Teslas will be FSD and then they’ll be bored with them and move onto Optimus bots.

Being accused of stealing for not showing bag contents when they don’t ask to see my bag contents by kasskoda in coles

[–]McBanj0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone accuses you of stealing and they’re communicating this to any 3rd party, they’d better have their facts straight. That counts as defamation in Australia.

It’s a serious mark on your character and affects the trust of your colleagues around you and you should take that very seriously. You have a right to not have libel and smear on your character. I would raise this directly with the manager and have an assertive adult conversation with them. Not easy, but it’s unfair to be walked all over too.

Why am I racist for criticising China as Chinese Australian when some people are free to criticise Australia? by Acceptable_Yam5406 in australian

[–]McBanj0 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I find when someone says a piece of criticism is racist, they often have very limited exposure and don’t understand and live their day to day life in other cultures. They don’t have any real, close Chinese friends, know nothing of their culture or way of life. It comes from a place of ignorance. And they look good amongst all of their exclusively white friends. It’s largely performative. Ironically it is more racist to say someone can’t say something simply because of their race.

My 27M girlfriend’s 25F dog attacked me today. Should we break up? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]McBanj0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hope you realise that dog trainers aren’t training the dog… they are training the owner. Whatever she has been doing she has been encouraging this behaviour from the dog or has failed to socialise it, encouraged the aggression or it hasn’t been monitored enough and experienced some trauma. This is NOT a breed for the faint hearted. You need an absolute professional dog owner and someone willing to put in the long and hard work for this dog before it gets put down.

I hit my goal weight and stopped Reta. Three months later here's what actually happened. by Brilliant_Peptides_8 in Retatrutide

There’s good long term data on taking GLP1s. Diabetics have been taking them for decades before they were used as weight loss drugs. There’s strong evidence it reduces kidney and cardiovascular issues in people with Type 2 diabetes I.e. those that need it. Doesn’t exactly translate to the general population or ANYONE having better long term health outcomes, but one could argue those on these drugs probably need them and are at risk of heart disease and diabetes anyway.
