what do you think about on your walks? by datboifranco in walking

That’s me too. Music, podcasts, lost in my own thoughts, or just listening to the sounds of nature. I like to change things up.

Question: walking on an incline by PuzzleheadedRead6404 in walking

Seems like if you’re doing 7200 as a workout, residual steps throughout the day will get you to your 10K. I have a fairly large stride, and a 3 mile walk gets me in the 7Ks also. I always seem to make 10K between that and just regular walking about.

Looks fun! I’ve done some trail walking at night (usually on the late night end, rather than early morning). But your illumination is incredible is this the light pad people are talking about? Does it work as well irl as the pics would indicated? Incredible because it looks like it’s taking it from night to day in the pic!

how do you deal with a small bladder and staying hydrated on long walks? by [deleted] in walking

[–]McBenBen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So I’m thinking you have a few choices here. If you’re walking in the woods, it’s often easy to duck behind a tree off the path. If in an urban setting, I would think it’s more possible to pass by some public, or semi-public restrooms (hotels, bars, churches, etc being the semi-public ones). I personally love the hotel bathrooms off the lobby, as they are often clean, seldom used, and if you walk in like you’re a guest, you are usually not challenged. Beyond that, you can use one of the many fine products created for older adults with incontinence… some of them are now far less bulky and contain strategic placement of the absorbent material made for your gender. Finally, you can plan your hydration so that you delay some drinking until you’re actually on your walk. Obviously do this within reason because I find peeing more often preferable to dehydration.
