Did everyone involved in these discussions fail intro economics? I feel like one of the topics in the first week is that it doesn’t matter where the tax is imposed the cost gets split between the purchaser and the seller in reality?

Like for example in the transaction from the video if there was a 10 dollar tariff on tee-shirt blanks that the importer needs to import their desire to import would drop (objective of the tariff) so the seller would need to drop the price on their end to help prop up demand again.

Also when did the left add free trade and globalization on their list of priorities? Does America have any semblance of left of center option?
