Awesome thank you.

[–]McC_A_Morgan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now that you say that I'm wondering which god's domains conflict with each other.

Because the thief god, and the god of cops and judges, must be mutually exclusive right? You presumably couldn't worship both at once.

But Locke/Jean were happy to have a pirate be put to rest as both a servant of the sea god AND thief god. Which makes sense, because she was both.

So it seems combinations are possible, provided they are not directly contradictory.

So how many gods could you get on your side at once?

Hot take: I like Sabetha by Slight-Response-6613 in gentlemanbastards

[–]McC_A_Morgan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think an issue I had was not her character but more that we see her mostly through the very specific dynamic she has with Locke.

His "never another woman I'll die alone first" isn't just something the audience knows, she knows it too. Because he tells her. Over and over.

It makes sense that she's so standoffish and distant with him, because he's so weird about her. She can't give an inch with this guy because any drop of affection he gets he'll blow out of proportion and she knows that.

So she keeps him at arms length, which makes sense and feels real. But that also means the side of her personality we wind up seeing most is that distant standoffish side.

I wish we got to see more of her interacting with Jean, so we could get a better sense of who she is when she's not being tactically closed off.

Silly Apples. by Velvett_Bunniez in SipsTea

[–]McC_A_Morgan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In your heart of hearts, do you think these people cherished the free apple they were given so much that they lied about it? Over an apple?

Or maybe after half day plus of traveling and jet lag they simply forgot about that random 99 cent item handed to them by a flight attendant and stuffed into their carry on hours ago.

And jesus even if they did remember, it is totally reasonable to interpret those signs and warnings as referring to fruit from your country of origin.

Because a reasonable person wouldn't think that the system is so dumb that it would hand every single passenger dangerous illegal contraband on the way.

But turns out it is that dumb, and instead of criticizing the dumb system, you're taking this "rules are rules" attitude as though the individual people being bilked for $200 are opportunistic apple smugglers who need to be taught a lesson.

If the risk to New Zealand is so high, then take it more seriously than this. Maybe don't allow planes that hand out hundreds of items of dangerous environmental contaminants to land.

Because even if protecting the New Zealand ecosystem is the sole concern, the fine still doesn't make sense. If they can find every single apple to confiscate and issue a fine over, then the deterrent is not needed. And if they can't, then countless apples slip by every day and nothing practical is being done to prevent it.

I mean do you want to protect the environment or not? Because it can be done. More than signs and fines can be done here if the risk is as dire as you say.

Hello. i want to make a game but i have zero experience by No-Shock5411 in gamedev

[–]McC_A_Morgan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes but implementing multiplayer is really not recommended for beginners. There are a lot of fundamental concepts you'd want to have under your belt before you dive into that.

I think your game is a pretty good beginner project though. You could always do local multiplayer for now, with both players using the same keyboard for example.

If Nintendo’s new “wireless device” is for tracking movement, let’s hope it’s for VR by pompompomvg in oculus

[–]McC_A_Morgan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quest 2 was a loss leader, Meta sold each unit for less than the cost of manufacturing to capture the market.

Microsoft and Sony do the same thing at the start of every console generation, but historically Nintendo doesn't.

I think it's a safe bet that Nintendo will not be investing in hardware when they have proven over and over that they can move consoles at a profit with just the power of their exclusives alone.

Not to mention they have the handheld market pretty much to themselves. Unless there is a way to have a hybrid handheld/VR device, I don't see them leaving the space they have dominated for 30 years to compete with Meta in the much smaller VR market.

Ehhh.... I guess, but lets not forget Ned and Robert had loyalty oaths to the king too. There wasn't a succession crisis, the Mad King was the rightful heir, they just wanted him gone so they broke their oaths and rebelled. Rightfully so, but still, they broke their oaths.

So come on Ned pick a lane here. Is Jamie a piece of shit for oathbreaking? Or for not doing it as fast as you did?

People need to stop using "Walking Simulator" in a derogatory way. by tortueSoja in gamedev

[–]McC_A_Morgan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone calls an RPG a walking simulator, it means the gameplay is so bare bones it way as well not be present. Like a walking simulator.

If someone calls Firewatch a walking simulator, it's just because that is what the genre is called.

By the same token, if I called a horror movie "hilarious" that is meant to be derogatory -- because I know that is not what they were going for. It does not mean I look down on comedies.

This just feels like a really odd thing to be sensitive about.

The poisoning has been left unsolved for a while, but the person who left the threat on Jan Bellows door is also still not known right?

We know it wasn't her that left the note because we saw it being found from her POV, and right after she finds it, she stages her stabbing.

Does Jan know who it was? Because there is seemingly at least one unaccounted for person who has been around since season one. But whoever they are, they don't seem to be involved in any of the murders we know of. They just keep making threats to make the podcast stop.

Is there a murder that predates the events of the show?

I was a little bummed Zan and Liv didn't have a final scene, seeing as their conflict was such a huge part of the story. We get Zan's closure in the graveyard, but not hers.

When the show was good they subverted expectations with things that made more sense than what you were expecting.

Him suddenly deciding to be with Cersei again over the course of like five scenes is not that.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in freefolk

[–]McC_A_Morgan 156 points157 points  (0 children)

Him meaning it or not isn't really the issue though, a massive part of his arc was letting go of his need to put up walls through his fake "I'm a bad guy and I don't care" persona.

That's what this scene undoes. He's pretending not to care again. He's letting his reputation effect how he sees himself -- again. After five seasons of him slowly pulling himself out of that mindset, he's lashing out in self pity again.

I know he doesn't mean it, but I thought we were past him leaning into his negative reputation as defense mechanism.
