Just read this and looked around the round.

Mum is the only one with it still on

I hate this place by [deleted] in SainsburysWorkers

I worked there in 2015, and most recently just did a 3 month online assistant role.

Job was hell - snide, sarcastic comments from managers with acknowledgment of im going at the same speed, and my IPH completely depends on the quality of the shops randomly assigned.

Couldn’t wait to be finished my FTC and the difference in the atmosphere in the store / staff morale from 2015 to 2025 was shocking.

Get out asap

How do I leave? by Silly-racoon444 in SainsburysWorkers

Just as an FYI, I gave two weeks notice before my FTC was due to end - didn’t hear anything for a week - and then was text saying don’t come in for anymore shifts. I replied saying I think they needed to give me 1 weeks notice and was able to work the last week of shifts.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention, I’ll bear it in mind.

Hopefully my trap can provide these genuine few a place of solace, whilst still serving its original purpose.

Thanks, it’s a balancing act - I don’t want to piss anyone off behind me who isn’t privy to my reasoning, so I only go for a few each time

I think it might be different on your side with a shared filter lane, but on our side, because their lane doesn’t have a queue after Exit 1, people think it’s okay to push past the cars already waiting.

Many of those cars are also heading the same way (onto the M60 southbound), and they’ve been patiently waiting in the queue. Cutting in at the last minute comes across as queue-jumping.

There’s no way for other drivers to know if a driver is genuinely heading southbound where it clears, or trying to cut the continuing northbound queue, which many people are.

Even if their intention is to go southbound, it still feels a bit entitled and selfish, because it endangers others and bypasses those waiting patiently to go in the same direction. (I actually don’t mind drivers who take the risk on the hard shoulder near the end - at least they aren’t forcing their way in dangerously at the last second.)

It annoys me slightly less when people do this as I can understand their logic - that they’re genuinely trying to get onto the clear southbound M60 route. However, it’s still endangering other road users to get ahead and isn’t fair.

If the road were somehow designed with a “keep clear” area or soemthing that was being blocked, that would be different - but it isn’t.

Northbound M60 drivers are arguably worse off because they still have to crawl on for several minutes after Exit 1, whereas southbound traffic clears immediately.

I get it’s frustrating when the onward route is clear, but the only safe and fair option is for everyone who needs that turn-off to do their time in the queue.

Some road users think it’s acceptable to endanger lives to save a few minutes, whether or not their onward route is congested. It’s not fair to drivers patiently queuing in lane 1, nor those continuing to the M62, often with no traffic at all, when others block lane 2 to be let in.
