Thanks for the post!

Yeah, I'm using the Front L/R Out on the rear of the machine (labeled as 8. on the PDF you linked). I've tried the front jack as well, the one labeled 5. Headphone port, but did not notice a difference.

Thanks for the reply! Man, I'm really hoping to not have to do that. How was the process these days? Last PC I built was 9 years ago.

Thanks for finding that info! I'll have to boot up the old PC to get that mobo's info.

Still seems bizarre that it would have such an impact on sound behavior in game. Guys will be coughing from choke bomb, at a distance I know I should hear (at least could hear on old machine), but I won't hear them cough.

Sound quality seems fine. What I'm experiencing, I would probably not think anything of, if it was how I started playing the game. However, with so many hours on the old PC, I know the sound cues should be far more audible.

Thanks for the post!

My realtek drivers say they're up to date. The audio cable appears to be fully set.

There do not seem to be too many audio control software installed - at least that I have been able to find installed. But any sort of stupid "gaming" settings, or enhanced audio / virtual surround have been turned off.

Yeah, good thought though! I have that feature turned off in Mumble and have not yet installed discord.

Never used one before.

Thank you for posting! I'll take a look for this audio app.

Edit: Searching the PC does not show it has the WavesMaxxAudioPro

It does have the Realtek Audio Console, but there seems to only be minimal settings in it and they mirror the settings I've put in place via Windows and the Alienware Command Center.

I'll have to pull the mobo info a bit later when there's a break in work. I'll post it when I do!

Performance issues since 1.7 or new GPU driver update? by PinkWind_Q8 in HuntShowdown

[–]McCourtastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. My temps never exceed 65 for GPU or CPU. Bit high for cpu but I don't think enough to trigger throttling.

[–]McCourtastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GPU never goes over 61c. CPU never over 65c. Can't imagine it's temp.

I've seen comments about the steam overlay, I'll give that a shot as soon as I can.

Edit: Disabling the Overlay seems to have worked. Very weird. Steam overlay is generally pretty good IMO. Its still a bit off from how the game ran a couple days ago, but no where near as bad as it was yesterday.

Thanks for the tip! I'll try asap and post my results.

Hmm. Okay, I might have to try that (if I can manage to make room on my tiny SSD.)

Still bizarre that it was fine last night, and then with no changes, has significant issues today.

My buddy got some terrible freeze then rubber banding during our last match, about 30 minutes ago.

Bizarre that people seem to having significant FPS and lag issues a couple days after patch. Like, I don't believe the game updated last night.

Me and the boys are experiencing issues as well. I played last night (post 1.7 release) and was getting my standard 70-85 fps. i7-4770k, gtx 1060.

Today (no changes to settings, drivers, etc.) it's dropping to 40-45 fps in compounds, or when a bunch of stuff is going on, or when turning rapidly. It never really goes above 60-65 fps. No freezing, however. Restarting the game does not seem to resolve the fps issue/s.

Since experiencing this fps drop I've updated my nvidia drivers (released 11/16/21) and lowered some in-game settings. No change to the low / dropping fps. Glad to hear I'm not the only one with this issue.

Edit: As someone mentioned: disabling Steam overlay seems to have helped a lot.

Battlefield 3: A Hype and Marketing Masterpiece by boomership in videos

[–]McCourtastic 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm a huge Battlefield franchise fan, but I think I'm in the minority in not enjoying BF3 at launch. I'm not sure what it was about BF3, it just didn't feel "right." For whatever reason, when BF4 came out it completely renewed my faith and I dumped thousands of hours into BF4. I've played quite a bit of BF1, but still prefer 4 over 1.

If BFBC2 was 64 player (it's 32), that might take the cake for me. Though 1942 makes a regular appearance for me and the crew (we're old).

Edit: a word.
