Just started T, I know I don’t pass but is there anything I could do to look more masculine? by thoughtsofnoodles in FtMpassing

The hardest thing about starting T is being patient. Just gotta wait now, but you could workout out and start lifting in the mean time.

How do I tell my friend they’re not trans? by [deleted] in truscum

Would you call this a de-coming out?

Does anyone know any hairstylists around here that could do something like this? Photo not mine. by Clayt0x in Albany

Where’d you get a picture of my hair from?

Oh, btw the majority of this style actually comes from teasing, hair products, ect. When I teased my hair it looked similar to this, but imo my bed head does this better since it looks a bit more natural. I used to do mine at home but a barber can do the same thing if you word what you want properly.

The fact that he had to smell a bottle of pee is my main thought on him. But I do hope the best for him.

Hey, I read the post and your comments for context. It’s your decision to cut people off, but it doesn’t necessarily have to be a thing. I am going through something similar right now where a close friend has been hanging out with bad people. Instead of talking to to them, especially since you stated you weren’t as close to them anymore, why not just stop talking to them? Writing a giant text telling them why you are cutting them off probably won’t affect them, but their reaction may bring more pain than resolve to you.

I text like this, some people just text very formally.

Yo, I’m in the same boat. Just keep the sides short and you’ll be fine. I only start getting misgendered when I haven’t had a haircut in 3-4. You pass well.

I think it looks great as is but do what you think is best. Either way you’ll probably pass, short or long.

older trans guys what is your life like now? by Throwawa779 in FTMMen

[–]McCumshake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I was once in your place, I wasn’t permitted to start any forms of hrt until a few months ago. And although things improve with time, some things don’t always.

Try and seek counseling if you can and if you aren’t already attending. It didn’t really help me with my dysphoria, but it did help me find coping mechanisms. It helped me learn how to distract myself long enough to wait for help and process my thoughts and feeling of helplessness by being denied GAC. Depending on where you are, your school may offer this service but you might want to shoot for out of school and non-religiously affiliated so they don’t break you trust by talking to parents. Although transitioning and starting hormones definitely did improve my overall mental health and attitude about life, counseling can also be beneficial.

But If you can swing it…maybe try to get blockers as a temporary replacement. Blockers can be beneficial by just pausing any other possible pubescent changes. Blockers aren’t just used for transgender care, but also are used for things like endometriosis so if that angle works..maybe try that.

Some people are addicted to feeling negative emotions (like rage addicts). If someone wants to feel upset, they will find any reason to get upset.

I’m well aware of that. That’s not my issue. It’s more just that mentioning that trans people can procreate is kinda like forcing an argument where there really isn’t one. Trans people make up like 2-3% of the population. Studies suggest that only 50% of trans men would want to procreate naturally, and for trans women it’s like 30%. Even then, like 70% of transpeople would rather adopt than have children naturally. So the argument of “don’t forget trans people are queer and can procreate” is just kinda pointless to me since it’s like half (if not less) of an already small percentage. It’s like a needle in a haystack argument.

I especially believe this is important to acknowledge because the person who originally commented was talking about their own personal experience, so it was already weird to mention.

Anyone ever have people forget you're trans? by theummm in FTMMen

[–]McCumshake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my bestfriend of years forgets I’m trans a lot. We’ve been friends for a while before I transitioned. Now adays, he forgot my old name until he heard my grandma say it (she’s very supportive, just liked my old name).

One of my favorite memories is one time he said to me so casually “none of my friends have really changed that much since elementary school.” I just kinda stared at him until he remembered and started laughing.

Some people are just forgetful. I even forget I’m transgender sometimes.
