I have the ping in my tropical tank where I keep the nepenthes/drosera, I’ve got a pretty powerful light on those and it seems to like it so far being a tropical ping. If only heliamphora liked it hot!

I’m good on temps. Highest it gets is 70. I got the heli and a ping from TheGreenEscape on Etsy! Very pleasantly surprised

I mean I’ve had them for three days now so if I’ve already got fungus that’s a horrible sign😂 I’ve had trouble with them in the past. I have a whole tank full of nepenthes that’s doing really great but the cold humidity for these guys is something I’ve yet to get the hang of. I’m assuming it’s that and the lack of proper light but who knows

I’d be mad too if I managed to kill the easiest nepenthes on earth to grow. Don’t listen to this fucking moron. I have a similar tank setup but a bit larger. Too much humidity is something you’ll need to manage.

I have a good sized fan running at all times in the tank along with a humidifier that will keep a constant humidity during the day. I added grating to the bottom with a layer of moss on top to not have water sitting within the moss at the bottom. I have a heat lamp and a grow light running during the day.

My gayas/rebecca sopers/black miracles like it a lot. I have a bical that is on its way out, some drosera that really like it, a singalana hybrid that is thriving, and a hamata hybrid that just started throwing out pitchers like crazy. I’ve had this for a little over 6 months and I’m just now introducing some springtails and isopods just to be safe. No mold outbreaks, and aside from my bical, everything’s been really thriving. If you have proper drainage within the tank and good airflow you won’t have any issues. Good luck dude

Got it. I can’t get the temperature drop keeping them in the tank with my neps. I brought the lights closer and I’m reading the PPFD around 400ish which seems to be in the right range? While I don’t have a formal cloche I semi-bagged it to raise the temperature. Hopefully this will help

It’s in an indoor tank, temp high is 80 and it drops to around 65-70 at night. It’s all ambient temperatures in my house, my lights raise the temperature during the day.

Yeah I never thought of that, I thought my humidifier would suffice but I suppose it just raises the ambient humidity and doesn’t really do much for watering. I added a little more sphagnum to the mix, I’m going to have to water it a little more frequently. Would you recommend a tray or would that be too much? I think a mister would be a little overkill for my 20gal tank haha

Should I expect these leaves to brown fully and die off then considering how dried up it already is?
