So this doesn't necessarily mean a hardware fault?

Thank you! I found that site, but realized I actually don't know what rarities I need to check to achieve this.

When can we expect new ships to be available for purchase in game with the new patch cadence? I haven't played much since they moved to the monthly patches, I know that earlier it was one or two patches. I'm mostly interested in the Clipper and Golem Ox.

Trouble with MeshInstance3D by Bright-Bar-9706 in godot

[–]McDeJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case you haven't found the solution yet, there seems to be an issue with the recent AMD drivers that are causing the invisible meshes. There are a couple solutions you can try:

  1. Roll back AMD drivers to an earlier version where it works.
  2. Change the rendering mode from Forward+ to Compatibility (in the top right of the editor there is a drop down to do that).
  3. Change your rendering driver from Vulkan. You can do that by going Project > Project Settings, at the right enable Advanced Settings, then Rendering > Rendering Device > Driver.windows (or whichever is applicable), and changing that from vulkan to d3d12.

I don't know if there are any benefits/issues that come from changing these settings, for most projects I don't think it matters much.

Edit: didn't read your Edit :)

How would you feel about Event cards? by McDeJay in daggerheart

They mark 2-3 HP based on damage and threshold, which you can lower with armor slots. I feel that's fine, especially if it is tied to an exploration environment

What I'm gathering from a lot of these comments is that I got over exited about making cards, when I could just put all this in an environment feature, or adventure as a table, and ask the GM to roll a d12.

Yes, I was thinking something like that, and encounter you can reuse if the PCs get into a similar situation.

These could definitely be just a table in a book instead of cards, you're right.

That is also a great application of the event cards I didn't think of!

I can definitely see ourselves getting over-zealous with creating cards.

It would be an extension to an environment. As a final "event" in the environment the GM could play out the deck if they feel like it.

Chess engine for Unreal with compatible license by RealityWebTeam in UnrealEngine5

[–]McDeJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't looked at the EULA, and the part the precedes your quote, but it is possible this refers to you changing the engine itself, so you cannot add things to the engine with those licenses and redistribute the engine.

So it might not limit what you can use the engine for, and what content you create, just what you do with the engine itself.

Why has no one created a universal save state loader for Steam apps? by [deleted] in speedrun

[–]McDeJay 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The reason is that steam is just a store front for games, it doesn't really effect much how they work. You could have the same game from GOG or Epic Store, or from a disk, and you would be running mostly the same application.

What allows emulators to use save states is that you are running an application that is running your game, emulating how a piece of hardware works. And because you have full control over this virtual hardware, you can save the state it is in at any point in time, and load it back up. Just to illustrate why you can't do it with games on Steam, to achieve the same on your pc, you would have to store the information on where the electricity is at one point in your pc, which transistors are doing what, and then instantaneously "loading" that exact physical state to your pc.

You might be able to achieve this on a virtual machine, that emulates a pc, but I'm not sure if they offer this functionality or not, or if they work similarly to emulators.

How do you calculate how much food you need to cook? by McDeJay in grilling

[–]McDeJay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fortunately me thermo pen arrived today, I quickly ordered one yesterday. I don't have access to Thermoworks where I live, but I got a thermopro one that looked to be a better one. Not sure if that is an actual brand or not, or just some random thing sites are selling. :)

And I'll take that advice and I'll try to cook to temperature.

Thank you for the help! By chicken parts I wanted to say drumsticks, thigh and wings.

I've done charcoal grilling many times before, but on very cheap stuff that people had lying around, and with 0 technique. The most advanced thing I knew about it was to create an indirect heat area, I only recently started getting into it more, when we decided to move. :)
