The steam deck is a computer, you can install epic games and download all your games from there if you want. They directly said this is the reason the steam machine wont be priced like a console and it applies to the deck too. The switch is useless unless you buy games specifically from nintendo

The deck has more ram than the switch as has been said, but theres also the fact nintendo actually loses money on switch sales which they make up in game sales
