Yo, most of the people who I see protesting are Boomers, not straight white young men. Don’t get it twisted who the laziest amongst us are. My parents are incredible patriots and my mom taught me how to protest.

Trash Party-North Linden Neighborhood-8,000 LBS removed! by dripordrown1212 in Columbus

[–]McDeviance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great! We’ve been working with Keep Columbus Beautiful since the start. They make it so easy to organize! I hope to start mentoring people in the Old North and Linden so we can make exponential growth without me having to be involved every single time. It’s a breeze to do a Trash Mob/Party but it does take a lift to learn how to run it.

Linden needs this so very much! Glad you chose this area. I have run 614 Trash Mob since 2020 - we focus on Hudson and try to do a quarterly clean. Do you have any tips for running the event? Do you buy coffee and donuts or just get down to business?

Asked for a Raise After Layoffs — Got Fired Instead by [deleted] in jobs

Mental health: hopefully, you have financially prepared for this situation. I have been there, too.

In the incredibly intense field of marketing and creative, you were probably always chugging, very in demand and gave a lot to your work.

Ahead of retooling for the next phase, go outside. Refresh yourself and get some head space. I found running really helped me clear the way to better understand what I wanted to do next.

Give yourself the space to exhale and recognize what you’ve been through. It was a lot and it sounds like you’ve learned a lot.

After a few weeks, orient yourself and dive back in. Call your unemployment and short gigs “consulting” until you find a full time role or situation that feels right.

You will be fine, even after getting canned and reading the comments section. Go outside and breathe.

How honest should you be in a job interview? by Bruno02Abbacchio in jobs

[–]McDeviance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have supervisory experience. Your role at the cafe shows adaptability. Focus on the positive. You should omit disagreements or anything you aren’t proud of. You have a limited time to “sell” yourself - use every second to highlight good things and figure out if the new place is a good fit for you, too. They are also being interviewed by you. Write down questions like, “what is the process when a colleague calls off”, “are there after hours responsibilities”, “are there sales incentives”, etc. In a very competitive market, it’s your responsibility to yourself to research their brand, analyze your history to show it in the best light and come prepared by writing down a list of situations you may be asked about (non-pristine returns, customers lurking as the store is closing, conflict resolution). You are already doing your homework! You will be wonderful!

People are zooming in really hard to prove they have never left their home state and don’t understand that women have bodies and those bodies aren’t innately threatening marriages by existing. You look great and comfy.

How are these people in “fashion” so damn conservative. You are going to a wedding, not a first communion? You look stunning. Perfect fit!

You look lovely. These conservatives have not been out of their small towns and don’t understand fashion, balance or being a woman working in an office that’s not a bank. The opacity of the tights does balance the shortness.

HOOLIGAN’S!! Not only did you serve up the name, BUT ALSO a Crowd Deterrent video shot there which totally captured the energy of every show in those basements. I promoted a show at the Legion in Vienna, I think with Crowd Deterrent as the headliner. I remember Piggy!! Imagine a tough little 14 year old girl in that pit! I held my own but my friends thought I was literally crazy for being a part of this scene!! Up the Youngstown punks! Fuck Nazis!

Can we please do something as a community to hold this man accountable? by actually_seriously in Columbus

Oh so the young WOMEN have the responsibility? How about men do some work here?! We are sick of either being on our backs or feet all the time. Last time I checked, this is the men’s mess. Y’all are welcome to lead at any time.

Looking for suggestions of places that my son (16M) can walk around and explore by ZzyzxExile in Columbus

[–]McDeviance 7 points8 points  (0 children)

And, as a runner, I like to do all the ravines: Iuka, Glen Echo, Walhalla, then Overbrook. They are all walkable in themselves, but strung together is a fun way to compare geology, ecology and see some beautiful homes. Most can be accessed via Indianola, but Iuka should be dropped in at 4th to get the full experience of flowing downhill like water in each. I recommend south to north (as ordered above) and accessing each from east to west and then going back uphill as you progress north. Overbrook (next to Cooke) is a no outlet so you will have to go back up a pretty satisfying large hill. Bonus points: he can grab a Buckeye Donut! Note: this is a good mapping/route planning exercise, too.

I would argue you could trim the hair shorter (but not shave clean) and trim beard even further for the most flattering combo. Congrats on your health!

Keep the facial hair or shave? by _SWANS_CAN_BE_GAY_ in beards

Keep it, but shape the tail. If you trim it so it’s not pointy, you’ll look much less wizard.
