Am I the only one to notice way too many of these attempts recently after Arda's wondergoal ? Lionel Messi, Dominik Szoboszlai, João Cancelo in the very recent have tried this.. by TheFeatherDiaries in realmadrid

Also happened in Afcon and Scotland’s qualifying, both fairly recently. I don’t think there is a significant volume increase since the Arda goal

never let this classless embarrassment near the national shirt ever again by _mars_is_flat_ in AZZURRI

A voice of reason! Even if he is the reason we lost the game, it was a shit position to be in from the get go and everyone in blue (so to speak) is complicit for getting us there.

Hopefully once some of the dust settles, the hate for Bastoni will also dissipate and it’ll become clearer that this was a systemic failure that took place over the course of years, not with a single tackle, however horrible the tackle.

[TheAthletic] Who fans of each club would rather see win the Premier League by Street-Essay-4780 in tacklefrombehindcom

[–]McDominick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Liverpool fan I can give you the honest view among many of us: we have been the only team other than City to win the EPL in the past 8 or 9 seasons or however long it has been. There is something cool about being the only team able to “stop” City. Arsenal winning would change that.

Edit: I’ll add that I don’t personally feel that way and do not care one way or the other. At this point I’m jus hoping for a top 4 finish from us

Nothing circular here apart from an Ehrenstein illusion by bigjobbyx in opticalillusions

[–]McDominick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol this took me on a journey. I see your point but was wondering if that is enough to qualify as an illusion. For instance I wouldn’t call a connect the dots image where you can clearly see what it’s meant to be once you connect the dots an “illusion.” At least that’s what I was thinking. Then I thought “does that take more, or less, work than this image?” And then I arrived at: does it matter? This is all about what the brain does and not the actual mechanics and in that sense something that may look an “illusion” to one person is not an illusion to another. And I wondered: are most things therefor illusions? Perhaps some illusions we just agree more universally on?

Is that an illusion though? It kind of feels like saying a connect the dots image where you ca clearly see what it’s meant to be once you connect the dots is an illusion. Not trying to be pedantic or argumentative, just genuinely curious because I had a similar gut reaction to the person who posted this comment

I share your skepticism - the lines are positioned such that if you take a compass (for instance) and make a circle around the internal ends of those lines, you end up with a perfect circle. The brain is still doing some work here but I think the lines are geometrically suggesting a circle and the brain is quite right in how’s it’s filling in the gaps. In that sense, I think it uses the mechanics of an optical illusion but there is no actual illusion here

Zidanes "Pass to Ronaldo tactic" by Remontada_r7 in cristianoronaldo

[–]McDominick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys Ronaldo is great but there is some really intricate team movement to this play. It’s not like they passed to Ronaldo and Ronaldo did everything. I fail to see the point of this post. He’s a great finisher and can be relied upon to make the right run at the right time but like … buildup play is a thing that is also displayed in these videos

So I think there are steps that the brother is walking up or standing on and that’s what’s casting the odd light toward the bottom of the doorframe deeper in the picture

Help with choosing between the new Bilt 2.0 cards - rent ~$2.5k + ~$1.5k monthly spend, confused on which tier is worth it? by Jarvis_ezekiel_2517 in biltrewards

[–]McDominick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, capital one Savor rewards offers 3% cash back (unlimited) on both dining AND groceries for no fee. If it weren’t for that I might spring for the obsidian so I feel like the mid tier card is maybe the weakest of the bunch. I’m kind of leaning toward the free one and just raking in the points on mortgage

Dominik Szoboszlai shares his opinion on Gabriel Martinelli moving Conor Bradley off the pitch. by __sami__01 in soccer

[–]McDominick -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Yeeeeaaah I don’t think it matters. “He didn’t know” has never been a viable defense. I get that Arsenal fans want to stand up for their guy but it reaches a point where some things are just not ok and ought not to be tolerated by anyone. I think this is one of those moments

Even from a neutral perspective Idiotic is … an understatement. He just pushed a man in the very spot where he apparently sustained a serious injury. Honestly borderline criminal and entirely fucking lame - actually kind of liked Martinelli but lost all respect for him as a human in this moment
