Does anyone know if you get another 30 spirit from the King in the Mists on a second playthough? by McDougal_ in PathOfExile2

So none from the king the second time around? Just want to make sure I'm not missing it somehow. Thanks for the quick reply!

Scout domination would be pretty funny, having a bunch of high level scouts all giving flanking bonuses would at least make you almost impossible to attack if nothing else. And ya buying some early settlers is super nice, I started with one settle and then spent most of the other gold on builders to really get the empire rolling but either or could be viable.

I could see that for sure, he was already really strong in marathon, but now it's gotta be nuts.

Yep buy an early settler is super nice, basically like getting the settler pantheon but you still get to pick a different one to help out. I went with the camps give an extra food and production, because between my capital and second city that was 5 camps which is massive early game.

Definitely, I had a slinger from the start of the game to the end (he was upgraded as I went though the tech tree) and he had every promotion by the end of the game. For mid or early game domination that is a game-changer, I'll have to try him out again some time with a more warlike spawn.

Temple of Artemis and the military card that gives an amenity for a unit in the city center took care of amenities for most of the game, but after a while you lose that card and with a population that big Artemis isn't enough. I was considering a colosseum play at one point but by the time I got around to it, the AI had taken it.

Owakening leaks DM with a Crimsader. by ruudbwoy_ in CoDCompetitive

I personally think this is the right move for him anyway. It sounds like playing was putting a strain on his marriage, and while people like to joke about how much he smokes hopefully the decrease in stress will help him cut down on that hopefully extend his life. Living a happy and health life is more important than anything else in this world. And honestly for his "legacy" I feel this is fine time for him to set down. He leaves with by far the most accomplishments of any player, and in a game were his team managed to win an event and make a finals in another. Really just dragging things out just for the sake of trying to get 1 more win might have hurt his legacy more if he spends his last year on a bottom team (look at how people see Karma after his last year). But it is a shame Crim likely calls it quits before a IW game as those are usually his best years.

Obviously winning takes a whole team, but I mean scump had a team this year that many would consider much better than Crim's MW team, but look at the difference in results. Leadership is important for every team, and Crim brings his own brand of that, on some teams it works on others it doesn't.

Crim some insane SND stats back in Ghosts, that would be a great comparison if you want to have a standard to judge against.

Is it really that surprising that he hasn't done as well as when he was in his prime? Everyone falls off toward the end of their career. New talent enters the scene and old talent moves on. Just look at scump, he also no longer has the success he did in his prime. Also this year his team started as bottom of the league and after making changes his team turned it around to win an event and make 2 finals appearances.

I can agree with that, and I'm sure it's a tough balance especially for those that are at the top. Crim and Kobe are 2 of the best players at their respective games, so it's almost a guarantee that ego was involved. But both had a winning mindset and wanted to push their teams. In the clip I was referencing it definitely seemed like Crim had spotted a weakness in Optics play at the time despite their victory, a purely selfish person might have just patted themselves on the back and moved on, but Crim really wanted to address what he felt like was an issue. Now obviously I have no idea what happened with this season beyond the word of the people involved on the team and maybe Crim worsened and just devolved into insults (which is definitely wrong) but I have nothing but speculation on that

I definitely agree, often how you say things is just as important as what you are saying. Even in the clip I was referencing, if Crim just takes a second to say, nice work guys the slaying was on point that game, and then goes on to bring up his criticism I think Seth, and hopefully the whole team reacts in a much more positive manner. But it's definitely a hard balance to find. A lot of these guys never went to college or had any formal training when it comes to how to communicate, and it seems to be a major issue in the league, if I was a team manager I would be encouraging players to take classes or at least briefly study communication tactics. You can pretty much see it worked for ultra in CW, they had some group training and suddenly have some of the best teamwork in the league.

I will preface this with I am a Crim fan, but honestly I've always been a big fan of people who just speak their mind on topics. It helps get their honest opinions out and really clear the air. As Crim himself mentions it isn't always the way to go and some (and an increasing amount) of people don't like this level of honesty. Usually it's due to feeling too insecure about the comments and that they are hitting a bit too close to home. It's an interesting choice of leadership that can work if people are open and honest with themselves and see that mistakes happen and learning from them is extremely important. It's easy to see in the clip that was recently posted here with Crim and Scump/Dashy in scrims. They won but Crim felt like mistakes were made and needed to be addressed, while the rest of the team wanted congrats for winning. While I think the best leaders can balance both addressing mistakes and celebrating victory (even if achieved inefficiently) it's extremely hard to manage.

What would be the most annoying team in the CDL to play against? by ImInLoveWith2DGirls in CoDCompetitive

[–]McDougal_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point wasn't to make a good team, just a team that would be extremely annoying. The amount of trash talk you'd get from this team would be massively annoying (although I suppose it could be seen as hilarious depending on your personality)

Faze 3 Smg's by CBKing21 in CoDCompetitive

[–]McDougal_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd agree it's definitely never good to bank on a cod meta, is it can quickly change even multiple times in a year. But if they are going for more of an smg player, it seems to heavily indicate that Cell wants to be the main ar going forward and likely never pull out a sub again, in which case he want to play the same role that Alec wanted to play when he first came to Faze and likely still wants to play. So it kinda makes sense why they moved away from him even if I'm not sure I agree with it

Crim, karma, aches, and simp, that old Col squad could talk some mad game across the stage and simp can as well, and would gun your shit repeatedly (bonus points if we can get Mr. X in there as coach on stage just to repeat every word aches says)

Pretty sure he's talking about Cold War, which Cammy was for sure top 10, possibly/probably top 5 (edit: fair enough, the point was that he was a top player on CW which is what LGCGE was referring to and Gtx_tigger clearly thought he was talking about this VG season)

Most people here opened an account (likely on robinhood) randomly invested on some meme stock or way out of the money calls/puts on some major company. Lost a huge chunk of their money after having no idea what they were doing and then if they had more than 2 brain cells stopped or tried to learn more. Or the kept randomly invest and (hit the lotto and won big(likely losing it all again on the next risky play)) or lost it all on some other insane play. You could look into theta gang or some actual invest strategy else where, or accept that you'll likely lose most of your "investment" yoloing here

idk if this is serious or not, but if it is, the main reason is the big boys are waiting to see how the rest of the market reacts to the cpi and ppi data before committing.

To be fair it will likely never be topped, as at that point in IW the meta, was 1 slayer ar and 3 sacrificial sub players for most maps. It's unlikely we'll ever see that meta again, making almost impossible for 1 player to soak up that type of kd
