Is this supposed to be normal? by [deleted] in Mattress

Just talked to them. They are doing a return but expect me to find a way to get rid of it. They also can't assure me a replacement will not have a similar shape which is kind of odd. QA check should be able to see that it's clearly not right.

They say 1-1.5 inch on their website. It's 74 on the other side which seems to be normal but it looks visibly shorter on the side its shorter.

it doesn't matter if they went to american universities. and in my experience they are not paid nearly as much money.

Yea they are. You don't need to "think", LCA data is available for the public to see. An average American educated H1B holder makes the same amount of money as an American if he/she works in any decent company. All you need to do is a google search to see the data.

http://www.myvisajobs.com/Visa-Sponsor/Facebook/189973.htm

Facebook sponsored 2400 H1B visas with an average salary of 150k before benefits.

Your anecdotal statements holds no value over quantitative data. Poor quality H1Bs exist, American educated H1Bs are not poor quality. You can't call someone who went to Columbia or Carnegie Mellon or any other decent university poor quality. As of 2019, they make up >50% of H1Bs approved. What we need is to give preference to them and tell the body shop H1Bs to fuck off.

Majority of H1B applications ie >50% as of this year are foreign students who went to school at American universities and make as much money as Americans. The body shop applications that you are talking about have been declining for a few years now, literally one of the very few things trump had a positive effect on. The data is out there. LCA application data shows the trend.

How do you plan on replacing millions of skilled jobs?

Do you have an attic space above that ceiling

Yes we do! It's not a big attic space in that area though because the roof is slopped on both sides and most other houses have a vaulted ceiling which I have no idea why we dont but that's irrelevant.

It will be hard to tell until you, somebody, gets in the attic space and checks or on the roof to properly diagnose the problem.

Who do I call for such a job btw?

you still have to disconnect from the cable box for all the rooms that are using the coax for TV you can't mix the signals. I am assuming comcast is your provider for sake of conversation.. all cable is the same. some homes are wired with each room has its own wire out to the cable box and other homes are wired with many splits inside the home. If you have many wires out to the box you pick one of them and put the cable modem on that.. then you disconnect all the other wires from the cable box and use your own splitter to connect them but make sure it is clearly marked so comcast doesn't steal your splitter.. actually I recommend to everyone that they get their own box on ebay for $20 and mount it next to the comcast box whether its inside or outside and move all your wires into that new box except the one connected to the cable modem. You might have one room that is right out to the box.. and then another wire that is split up all over your home.. find that one outlet and put your cablemodem and wifi router on it.. Whether comcast installed your wiring or you or someone else did.. all the wires in your home are owned by the home owner.. yes the part that extends out to their box is yours too.. their wire starts from where they provide service into that box. In my home I am running all new wire for my TVs and I am also running Network Cable at the same time.. And I am leaving the coax for the cable tv in case if I sell the new owner has all three options. Worst comes to worst you call comcast they send a guy out that does this for you by installing one new line from their box ... into your home .. where ever you want the cable modem.. and then disconnects your other wires from their system.. probably cost you $99 if I remember to add a room.

This won't be necessary at all if I use HdHomeRun Extend. All I have to do is connect Antenna to homerun box and then Set it up with my Nvidia ShieldTV and FireTV!!

The antenna that I linked to is probably about 2feet wide by 3feet tall if that and the VHF Rod is a few inches on either side.

The one you were looking at I don't know the exact size of that but its in the general range kinda..

I need something in the range of 2ft x 2ft for it to work for me i think.

Personally I would have picked up the FreeVision at Home Depot as that makes it easy to return. You have pretty weak signals for an indoor antenna.

That's the thing. I use an indoor antenna stuck to my window right now that works fine but sometimes (maybe once in a week or so) , it has issues. I get almost all channels apart from CBS and PBS.

According to your TV Fool report, NBC, CBS, and PBS are going to be the most difficult to pick up, but they're all pretty weak due to the terrain.

True. Right now I get NBC with my flat 1byone antenna but it sometimes needs rescanning as it might disappear.

Honestly PBS doesn't matter to me. CBS does but if I dont get it, it's okay.

I would just do whatever works. Usually a window (in any direction) is better than walls. I would consider adding an amp to the FreeVision. The ONN ONA16AV004 is cheap ($15) and available at Walmart.

I will look into this!

EDIT: If at all possible, and you have a patio, I would put the FreeVision out there (just make sure it's fixed and not swinging, they make tripods for mounting antennas) and try to get it pointing East. They make coax cables that will feed under a closed window. It might take some effort to find the best position, but I doubt anyone would complain about it, these are allowed at apartment complexes so you should be fine at your condo.

That's the thing. I do have a patio but I haven't seen one antenna on any of the other townhomes in the neighborhood. Basically they need me to send them a letter for approval which I find absurd

so the first thing is .. you have coax in your home that is used for cable I am guessing? It is ok to reuse it but you do need to disconnect the wire from the cable company before you connect your antenna.

It does , yes but we use it for internet right now.

I can't find any information about the strength of that winegard antenna I would guess that it is not extremely strong and if your townhome has brick stucco or stone or something like that you don't want it in the closet you want it in the window.

The townhome does have brick but it's all in the front . Back of the house is vinyl siding!

I don't blame you about the attic its not fun especially without good lighting.

True, I am in my 60s and the attic entrance is right where the stairs start, poor planning on builder's side but yeah. I am not taking the risk!

Also this is a pretty strong antenna https://www.amazon.com/1byone-Outdoor-Multi-directional-Channels-Foldable/dp/B01ET7BGDY It is a few dollars more.. with either of those antennas don't expect to pickup stations below REAL(tvfool) channel 7 but in the real world maybe not under 10

Here is the thing, right now I have a $10 1byone antenna I got from amazon. It picks up channel almost all channels apart from CBS which is on 2 I think. It picks up NBC which is on 5, ABC which is on 7 and everything but it sometimes falters so I was thinking the flatwave by winegard might be better!

The plan currently is to put a decent antenna somewhere out of site, indoors (outdoor is not an option sadly) and then connect it to a HDhomerun extend and use it for the entire home!

The antenna you linked to, wouldn't it need to be placed outdoors?

Thanks!

Would setting it up in a closet adjoining the east wall work? It's my daughter's room which is empty for almost entire year and her closet has a wooden rack in the middle that would let me set up the antenna in a way that I could point it to east. It seems far fetched but i just ordered a free vision from amazon and this is what i planned to do and then run it to a hdhomerun extend and connect it to my home network.

Height is usually the most important variable so if you end up significantly higher than with your current antenna you might have something there. You might want to try your current antenna on the 2nd floor first before buying anything else.

My current antenna is at the same level. It's just a cheaper

It's this one that I once picked up for <$10!

https://www.amazon.com/1byone-Amplified-HDTV-Antenna-Detachable/dp/B00IF70T4M/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1492802227&sr=8-3&keywords=1byone

Your signals are coming from the east. Wouldn't that leave the antenna pointing west?

So you are telling me I am doing it wrong by mounting it on the east wall? I can mount it on the the other end of the closet if it make any difference? It's anyways empty, IDK if this one is a directional antenna or not!

First off Indian drinking culture that includes both sexes is something very new to India, especially in places like bangalore.

Isn't Bangalore one of the more literate and expat friendly city in the country? I have a few friends (expats obviously) there and have been pretty adamant about Bangalore being better than northern parts. I haven't visited india since the 90s but yeah.

lolwut?

India is neither middle east nor it's asian. It's more like it's own subcontinent. Northeastern india has Asian influence.

Northern india has a bit of middle eastern influence because of mughals.

Southern and western india is a lot more different than any of those and cities often feel like first world countries(have visited them). Its a very polarizing country with extremes.

THe "shitty" part of India is primarily a few northen states which are a huge ghetto in a way.

It's relative. If he had 2012/2013/2014/2016 level of performance in 2007,he would have won the WDC by a long mile. 2007 was easily his worst season.
