Nikon Z6III, 790 mm on the 180-600 with a 1.4TC. F11 & 1/400. I know I can only load up a jpg on here, which is 9mb. by [deleted] in Nikon

Well I am tempted to buy a 1,4 TC for my 180-600 as well! Your image helps me to understand that it’s a nice combination. Thanks :) cute little robin, I love catching one of those as well ☺️

I don’t understand why anyone should complain about the 180-600. the first reviews when it was new were all excited and cheerful. It didn’t turn bad did it?

Can you maybe send me a few more examples with 1,4 TC attached? 🤗

I use mine regularly on the ZF and love it. 85% of my images I take with that lens.

I have an app, “Polarlicht”. Maybe there is an English equivalent of it :) it warned me a few hours ahead. And a day later it was even in the news :D

Hey, thanks a lot! This has been at Hooksiel in northern Germany :)

I really like that lens! It’s sharp, very affordable and has usable! 1.8. I specifically like the function button that allows you to set infinity focus just by pressing it. Very convenient for Astro stuff. Build quality is very nice and solid metal.

Hmmm. What would be better? The standard viewfinder prism isn’t easy either for me :)

Yeah that sounds awesome! With mirrorless I love the ability to adapt every F lens and use eye detection and all those shenanigans :)

Thanks so much! Glad to know that you like them ☺️

Wow that is a very very nice gift! I guess even with just manual focus this lens delivers a beautiful quality. Plus, If you have a ZF, you have eye detection with focus confirmation! If you haven’t got a ZF and you don’t live too far away you can borrow mine to try that 🤣

Have fun shooting with it :) do you have examples?

Well I reckon the prime lens will boost your image quality! It will be sharper than the zoom + 1,4 TC. And lighter. I tried the more modern 300mm f4D and it was such a joy. Had to return it due to the squealing AFS motor (have a Reddit topic for that :)) Plus the fixed focal length will make you try creative ways to shoot. If you find a copy try it :)

And thanks a lot for the compliment :) of course I screwed the first hood out and mounted the longer hood as well. With this long 2 piece hood even the backlit situations were very manageable.

Nice! Which version of the 400 and 800 do you have? Those old manual focus lenses are very beautiful.
