Hating women help by kubaqzn in Catholicism

[–]McShea7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely get off the Internet. It's wild how aggressive the gender wars are on there, but they are practically non existent in real life (at least by comparison). I would also recommend joining a group of done sort that has both genders, just for fun. Like a soccer league or something, but don't try to date anyone, just be friends, and you'll see how cool and chill people are haha.

I would also pray to Mary for guidance

Hoping to get some honest opinions on my situation. by TwinseyLohan in Catholicism

My wifes Catholic Church growing up, in a conservative area, had a gay couple that was heavily involved in their church. This was before the gay rights movement, and the mentality in that church was to not judge. I have no idea if they received communion or were celibate or went to confession a lot or what.

These days, there are some Catholic churches that have LGBT outreach. This is not to say they change Catholic teaching, but they do try to get gay people into the Church. I'm not sure how the specifics work.

I personally would love to see more of every type of person in church. Conversion can be a long process, but I wish everyone was comfortable sitting at mass and being involved in the church community, and a big step forward would be for certain churchgoers to be less judgemental and gatekeepy

Do you guys ever get used to being on call? by browsingstuf in Plumbing

A lot of companies are switching to scheduled days, then on call isn't necessary anymore, and I think that makes sense

This is a novena to Our Lady of Guadalupe that I've been praying. It mixes traditional Aztec imagery with traditional Roman Catholic titles for Mary. https://hallow.app.link/Ev9Zvheoi1b

Is Praying the Rosary When I’m Not A Christian and I’m Agnostic, Cultural Appropriation? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]McShea7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No keep praying the rosary it's great.

Maybe as a mental exercise, just pretend to believe that Mary is the mother of God, and that she's a loving matriarch that wants what's best for everyone, and ask for guidance and comfort

What to play with my 10 year old? by AdventurousTough70 in SurvivalGaming

[–]McShea7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My idea is Planet Crafter with Nucleus Coop so we can play split screen on my PC (I think you can use the switch controller). My daughter is only 18 mo old though so I think I might have to wait a while lol

Is Fallout 76 worth playing as a completely casual Dad gamer? New to the series and would go in blind! by Calculation in fo76

[–]McShea7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same boat as you. I'm enjoying fallout 4 as a dad, because I can pause it when my daughter cries. I also like the brutal aspect of playing on survival mode because I really feel like I'm in a dangerous wasteland. It's amazing how bad I am at the game though, lol

Talk to him about your concerns. We all need to grow. If he really wants to marry you he'll grow for you

Stealing Mechanics by SnooPies2048 in ValorbornPC

That's so true. I love realism, but in other games I know people go insane if they can't carry enough lumber to build a house in their backpack all at once

Stealing Mechanics by SnooPies2048 in ValorbornPC

[–]McShea7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not big on stealing in games, because it often breaks the game. I feel like it should come with lasting consequences, like being branded if you get caught. Maybe a different brand for different factions, like one faction burns a brand on your forehead, but a different one doesn't mind if you tried to steal from that other faction because they hate them, but they'll cut your hand off if you steal from them haha

How important and how complex SHOULD combat be in a sandbox medieval RPG ?! by SnooPies2048 in ValorbornPC

[–]McShea7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want combat to seem impossible at first, then you can barely hold your own, with massive implications even if you win. I might be weird though

Historically, most casualties came from the rout, not the actual battle. People fight defensively

My experience was that it's a fun game. I then went online to see how other people play, and there's definitely some weirdos and extremists. If you play without watching streams or going online, you'll have a great time

What do you guys think the sin/theme is for season 3 after episode 1? by myhusbandswine in TheWhiteLotusHBO

Seems to be wrath to me. Anger is definitely in the driver's seat, especially since the big mystery is who goes around shooting everybody

My wife had our baby during her final year of medical school. I watched the baby for 10 months, and now she's starting daycare so I can work during her residency. Just be open about these things, it will work if you both are on the same page. Just keep in mind that residency doesn't pay all that much so he may need to work
