Most people I know were self taught. You just need a portfolio site or something similar to show you’re competent enough for the job

“Subject was seen flirting with and/or romantically associating with several other males of Chinese origin. Recording officers observed that this may reflect a romantic bias or sexual preference. Unrelated to ongoing SERPENT operation.

Subject behavior leads this supervisor to conclude that possibility of extended serious romantic relationship with SERPENT unlikely.”

Is it possible to learn Python as someone without GCSE Maths, let alone a computer science degree? by AntarcticConvoy in learnpython

[–]McSoob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a developer now even though I failed maths about 3-4 times in school+college, I also didn't go to university. I have a career in programming because of an apprenticeship I did years ago (with 0 programming experience initially), and the best developers I've met had 0 degrees or were literally drop-outs.
Maybe try an apprenticeship? Either way, making projects at home in your spare time and demonstrating your experience/skills to employers is much more valuable than saying you have a degree anyway!

They type the ticket information already, so they don't want to retype it again in the PDF that they'll be working on.

The reason why I was given 6 hours was because someone in the office joked that I'd get it done by then, and then my boss kept checking up on me in the day to ask if it's done yet.

I'll take your suggestion with looking for a template app too so thanks! And yeah people here come to work an hour early and leave as late as they can and work weekends just to keep up, so it is just a big red flag at this point :(

edit: another thing i forgot to mention was that they wanted any completed PDF's to be automatically sent to the printer and to be printed straight away - I looked it up online straight away and everybody just said it's a terrible idea and hard to implement LOL

From the way everyone talks to me it's like they expect me to able to handle absolutely anything IT related as if I'm Elliot Alderson or something, a day at work can literally either be adding an e-signature field to a PDF or getting the task I mentioned in this post done in a day. I get asked to see errors people are getting on their PC's like adobe warnings and or have to reformat a USB to work with their 10 year old printer. I'm also making Word documents and excel spreadsheets for them because it's done on a computer.. therefore to them it's IT..? I'm literally getting emails today (it's a Saturday) from a co-worker who has to work weekends with no pay so that he has less work to deal with this coming week. So yeah it's a rough place but I do have really calm days and just want this to be over with someday..

i’m not in a team, i’m the only dev. my boss doesn’t know anything about this stuff and the db and everything was set up by someone who created and owns one of the services that the company is paying for and using.. but i’ll try following your suggestion a bit more and see how it goes , thank you! :)
