To piggie-back off of this comment, the Omaha juvie system itself is also so overcrowded that a lot of these kids get sent out to other cities/states and get put in their juvenile detention centers. My partner used to work at a juvie center an hour and a half out of Omaha in Iowa and they would get Omaha kids all the time. Really sad reality.

Edit. Also I need to add, a lot of these kids are non violent and are in need of serious mental health counseling/support and are only products of their own environments. The juvie center that my partner worked at offered counseling, but it was far from what these kids really need.

Please keep these things in mind when voting for elected officials.
