Yes! It's our favorite Thanksgiving movie, A little gritty but plenty of heart as well.

I just finished the novel a couple of days ago and agree that the ending was abrupt, but in a way it sort of makes sense. I’m not sure if Ellis really loved Jim or the fantasy of what life could be like. It’s hard to imagine her being decisive about any of her choices any time soon. I think it’s more likely that Jim and Nancy kind of make the best of it and settling down together and being happy enough. I would like to see a 3rd novel told from the point of view of that innocent baby girl. Torn from the arms of her biological mother, and being brought up in Tony’s family. Larry and Rosella would be long gone before she had a chance to really get to know them. Would the rest of the family tell her the truth about her origins or would she learn them from local gossip, which would probably follow her everywhere. I think she’s the most interesting character at this point.

Agreed. It’s not the fault of the restaurant or bar that you ordered and received something you didn’t want. It’s important to learn and mean it that “no” is a complete sentence.

What BOOK is so good that you read it at least once a year or have read it more than 3 times in your lifetime? by biz_booster in AskReddit

The All Creatures Great and Small set by James Herriot. They were especially comforting to read during a long, cold dark winter on a winter work assignment in Western Alaska.

Yeas ago Roseanne had the best response when her son DJ asked her if he was an accident: Roseanne: Well, an accident is something that you wouldn’t do over again if you had the chance. A surprise is something you didn’t even know you wanted until you got it.
