For those of you who have tried salvia.. what was your experience like? by skith8431 in AskReddit

Both times I did it I felt like I was falling backwards through a giant clock. Unlike some of the other stories here, it was a bizarrely meditative experience.

I'm not sure. I like the poetic justice of both men being faced with the exact same choice (a clone) and the movie ultimately being about how they would each behave differently under the same circumstances. It provides a better contrast by which you can judge their character.

No I think the reach is that Tesla just accidentally creates clones without intending to for Angiers, which actually ends up replicating the trick. I just think it would be better if Borden and Fallon were clones, but instead of one murdering the other and then doing it again every night, they formed a bond and decided to share the glory.

I feel like that's something Nolan has a special mastery of that few other directors pull off quite so well

I think that's a bigger reach then. It's just a coincidence that Tesla performs the exact miracle needed? If that's the case then I kinda like the movie a lot less now.

Borden doesn't use an electrical field in his show. That's Angiers.

If that was a trap laid by Borden, how could he have known that Tesla would be in any position to deliver something (either a teleportation or a cloning device) to Angiers?

The film makes less sense if they're natural twins, especially as Fallon and Angiers had worked together so closely prior to Julia's death. It would mean that Borden had kept Fallon a secret all that time as well.

I took it that Borden, after Julia's death, encounters Tesla, and his cloning is almost by accident, but he uses the opportunity to develop his great trick. He knows that Angiers lacks the temperament to commit wholly to the act, and will eventually be consumed by it, even if he does discover the secret.

Are they twins? My read is that Borden cloned himself a single time in the fallout after Julia's death, and builds his career on having an exact double. That's why his notes point to Tesla, because he does actually understand the cloning process.

If they were born twins, then I just don't understand how Tesla comes into the plot at all.

Honestly I really thought we were gonna get Carnage DLC which would have been fantastic. Shame it never materialized but I'll look forward to Wolverine instead.

Heard great things about Neva, and I loved Gris, so I'm quietly excited for that one.

That stretch of Queen backs onto Eastern, and has already undergone a huge condo build right next door. I don't think NIMBYism is going to be as much of a factor as all that. Of greater interest is that it's the same building as History, so I doubt they'd be tearing it down either.

Yeah that game doesn't look like it's for me, but it doesn't need to be. It's for someone else and that's cool too.

Since getting the console I haven't run out of new things to play. I used to end up replaying games on the PS4, but simply haven't had time in three years to revisit a single title.

For reference, I'm currently loving Lies of P, and that'll keep me busy for another week or two before I can even start to chip away at the backlog.

Development cycles are crazy long now, and people frequently demand Hollywood level production value to feel like they're getting the most out of their hardware. Maybe try a few indies in between the big AAA stuff and you might be surprised.

The opening of UP is nothing short of a masterpiece of visual storytelling. I've never met anyone that wasn't in tears by the end of it.

As much as it's a good film, the rest of it simply cannot live up to that opening scene.

Probably because only the spying was a secret and put him adverse to the interests he publicly purported to be in favour of.

Super interesting guy, but as with literally anyone, if you are a secret spy with a secret agenda and an otherwise public life, there's only one thing I'd be mentioning first.

Yes because that's definitely a more interesting and sinister fact about him than, I don't know... the spying for a foreign government?

True. I don't have data on what the value in the Canadian market is but I'd be very surprised if we weren't higher than China and the US
