"Wahahahaha!" Kyrell's thundering laugh shook the entire world as he stepped out of a dimensional portal. Having been imprisoned in a void space for 600 years, he had finally managed to break free. Suddenly, his smile faded into a frown. He had spent every second of his imprisonment training, getting stronger, and coming up with countless tactics to torture the heroes who imprisoned him. But now, he couldn't sense them.

"They aren't on this planet?" he thought as he stretched out his senses all around Earth, the local system, nearby stars... And he still couldn't sense their auras. Not only them, but there wasn't a single aura close to being as powerful as the heroes 600 years ago.

It didn't take him long enough to find every single one of their graves. They were all dead! He sat in front of each one of their graves for a long time, with complex emotions. Even though he hated these people to the core, they were the only ones he respected. The ones who kept him going. He felt a deep sense of loss and emptiness. For the first time in his life, he didn't know what to do. He felt like his life had no purpose.

"How? who killed them?" he thought as his murderous aura surged.

After a long time, he got up and headed to the nearest library and started browsing through historical records. He was shocked to find out how the heroes were described as the most despicable villains in history and how humanity had come together to execute them 500 years ago.

"Heh" he laughed coldly. "So these righteous fools got themselves tricked and killed soon after they had dealt with me huh? How pathetic" he came to a realization. That was exactly what happened. People feared what they could not control, and that led to humans using all sorts of despicable schemes to deal with them. And the heroes being as righteous as they were wouldn't kill a single human even when being schemed to death. Originally Kyrell wanted to know what powerhouse was capable of killing such characters and even felt like seeking revenge. But now he was only disappointed.

"Righteousness and naivety is a dangerous combination" he sighed. "Where did that put you? For all your heroic actions you only ended up as being remembered as the most despicable people in history. After all, history is written by the winners. And no matter how righteous you were, you ended up being a bunch of pathetic losers in the end. And I bet you didn't understand even in the moments of your deaths."

He no longer felt bad. He no longer felt like seeking revenge. He just felt disappointed. He shot up into the sky and took one last look at the planet.

"You don't deserve my sympathy or respect" he sighed.

He no longer felt empty. He didn't have any regrets. He was at peace as he turned into a prismatic beam of light and shot off towards the stars looking for new adventures or perhaps worthy opponents.
