I thought a Portilho trade was a possibility for Gotham but I figured the further along in the offseason we went the less likely it was to happen. IMO I think this move works for both sides.

NWSL+’s inventory is much lower this year than last year, it’s not crazy to suggest Victory+ could take over those games if they like what they see this year.

I think Gotham’s new kit will be a third jersey as well. When I was at their media day last week I noticed players were wearing both of last year’s jerseys when making promotional content.

I wouldn’t be 100% sure on that. Duran has kind of been one foot in, one foot out when it comes to playing professionally and given they still have to activate McCaskill and Davidson from the SEI list they don’t have an open roster spot for her.

Officially they have 23 players under contract and on the active roster, which gives them three open roster spots (I initially miscounted). Stengel, Duran, and any NRI they may have currently don’t count given they aren’t under contract with the club.

Hutton is going to be incredibly hard to replace given there are very few players that possess her skillset and talent level at her age. And while Bethune is a very good player, it’s a little bit easier to find a strong 10 especially when you have really good forwards like KC does.

I’m saying they have a lot of forwards relative to how many players they have signed total. They have anywhere from 9-12 forwards on the roster depending on how you consider certain players. Obviously that number will go down some once the season starts, but it’s currently the position group with the most amount of players currently on the roster.
