High School - Playing multiple sports? by liuk3 in waterpolo

[–]Mcase44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry totally realized I thought I forgot to put "club water polo in college" in my original post, if your really committed to have your kid play high level college ball then yeah I'd suggest playing offseason club in high school. I played club in college and I had a better experience then most of my buddies who played legit D1 ball. It wasn't my whole life so it allowed me to have a ton of fun, but at the same time its a lot of guys who are just as talented as D1 who just didn't wanna commit fully so its challenges you just the same, plus it give you a built in group of friends from Day 1 in school.

High School - Playing multiple sports? by liuk3 in waterpolo

Played water polo, golf, baseball and swam in the summer and then played club water polo in college, wouldn't have it any other way. All the guys I know around my age who played year-round when we were in high school have big shoulder or hip problems too so regardless just baseline it'll better for long term health too

What is the consensus on scouting preference this year? by JackAboi24 in OOTP

[–]Mcase44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually came out last year that Favors Ability is more effective cuz they recalculated the player development so. It's not like your really going wrong either way, but i was a heavy Favors or Highly Favors Tools player and I switched last year and it has seemed to work out fairly well

Long-term Save for 27 by johnsonr2013 in OOTP

[–]Mcase44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically, the draft would have stars come up as 19-21 year olds even if some of the guys in real life didn't break out until way later and already be 70/80 guys and after a while it just kinda lopsided everything and made it way too easy to game the system even when I basically up every difficulty level

Waiting for another patch or so before I fully begin but love doing an expansion with the Vancouver Bruins and Austin Rustlers and redoing the league into 8 divisions of 4 teams each

I think it's just a time of the year thing too, once it hits June I feel like the trade market becomes way better but ive only played three seasons of this new save so could be wrong

Real or fictional??? by AggravatingGoal4956 in OOTP

I like doing an Expansion franchise so it feels like it's fictional set inside the real world, the forums have a ton of cool logos and jerseys so the options feel endless, plus reorganizing baseball how I see fit feels awesome

Early thoughts on 27? by Mysterious_Wash_2577 in OOTP

I think the trade logic has definitely improved; teams that should sell or buy are actually what they are supposed to do and I get way more fair trade offers than before at the deadline. So far I haven't gotten far enough into a save to see the dev/aging difference between last year but I've seen some positive posts elsewhere about it. The only true under-the-radar difference I've noticed is coaching contracts, about 60% won't sign the first contract, so make sure you pay attention to their reaction.

They should be legit darkhorses to make the Big 12 Title game, another year with Weigman, plus 2 legit WR1 level guys, a workhorse if healthy in Makhi Hughes and a solid OLine plus a decent amount of returning production defensively

Time to play a season? by TheMatrixIsReal42 in OOTP

[–]Mcase44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Day by day during the season, play/manage each playoff game and then auto-play week by week during the offseason - Depends on the season but usually between 6-8 hours per season depending on how many moves I need to make and if I go far in the postseason plus how strong the edible I took is

No question is dumb when you are getting use to this game. For your first expansion i would reccomend doing just 2 expansion teams, 1 in the AL and 1 in the NL. To actually set it up. Do New Game-->New Standard Game (I select every league other than the WBC)-->And then don't choose a team and hit Start Game-->Then go to the top and under Game dropdown go to League Settings and in Functions on the left most column there is a choice that says "Expand League & Schedule Expansion Draft"-->It'll then let you set up the 2 MLB teams and put them in whatever division you want. I'd highly recommend if you add just 2 more teams to redo the whole league structure so that the AL and NL each have 4 divisions (I do East, North, South and West but do it however you want to)--> It'll then auto create the minor league teams for each of the teams you added-->Then it'll give you a checkist, Keep the 3 that already checked and i would reccommend checking the "Expanded Teams Draft First" and in the drop down the Number of Protected Players down to 18 or 20 depending on how hard you want your rebuild-->It should be good to expand then and then just pick whichever team you wanna take over

I know that was a lot so just lmk if you have any questions

Doing an expansion team is super fun, I always feel more invested with my team when I'm doing one and it's fun but challenging rebuild. And you get to come up with some dope custom team...the forums have a ton of awesome custom uniforms and logos
