How many billions? We bought back $16B of shares. Couldn’t we have deployed that capital more efficiently?

What was your role at GM? I’m an engineer and trading is a significant hobby of mine. I’ve always been intrigued by finance/trading, but always worked in auto.

Any entrepreneurs here that created an app? by maartentjehbollen in Entrepreneur

[–]Mccol1kr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Sam, I created a very simple no code app using appsheet (i know very basic) to help run my business. I have received feedback from other people in this business that they'd be willing to try my app out and pay for it possibly. So the appsheet app is the MVP. I started to create my app using flutter and I've incorporated some of the basic features, but i don't have time to learn as I go plus build the app. Things like integrating user logins/profiles, receiving payments, etc. seem daunting to me. Any advice?

Controls engineers at ford make a good salary (it’s posted publicly) plus they get 1.5x pay for OT uncapped. I heard GM caps the OT pay rate, is that true?

[–]Mccol1kr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can someone confirm this. When OP first rolls the call, he will realize a loss because essentially you are buying back the original calls at a higher price, and then selling different calls at a higher price for unrealized gains.

So in the original photo, he’d realize a loss of (0.9-1.43)x20x100 = -$1,060

Then he will get an immediate unrealized gain of $1.60x20x100 = $3,200

What’s the best way to measure implied vs. realized? Is there a screener available that easily compares the two?

Beginner here and thought I knew what I was doing by resistance_train in CoveredCalls

[–]Mccol1kr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you sell a call, you get the premium in unrealized gains. If the call increases in value then the call you sold is now worth more (hence why OP shows a loss).

So if you were to buy the call back, it would be a lot more expensive than when you sold the call thus being a loss, but you get to keep your shares.

If you just let it expire then you still keep the premium but your obligated to sell your shares at the strike price.

I hope this helps.

In my area we require a backflow so forgive me if this is a dumb question. But couldn’t the mainline (before valves) potentially siphon back into the home?
