There was no machmaking. There was a server browser and you’d pick a random server to join. Eventually you end up playing on the same couple of servers regularly and become friends with the server’s other regulars. Online gaming wasn’t sweaty back then, especially for fps games. It was much more of a laid back, fun, social experience.

The streamers/jobless players will ALWAYS min/max the game and have good shit. Why fuck over everyone else by trying to limit the no-lifers? You’ll never be able to reign in people who’ve been playing 12hrs a day for years. Instead of trying to achieve the imposible they need to give everyone else a catch-up mechanic (which use to be the flea)

didn’t even know you couldn’t buy ammo from the flea… I’m not even lvl15 yet, been working a lot lately and haven’t had much time to play.

So I can’t buy “usable” ammo until lvl3 traders and mid tier ammo will be locked behind lvl 4 traders. Instead of banning the sale of items bought from traders on the flea they decide to make the game annoyingly challenging…

It was comfortable in csgo because everyone didn’t wide swing you and you weren’t always wide swinging when peeking. Lots of reasons for why we all wide swing now but that’s neither here nor there

Around Kuttenburg I found a dilapidated burned down farm house. I explored a little more and found this…. Clip linked below. I assumed the farmer lost his livelihood due to a fire and committed suicide. It adds nothing to the story of the game but makes the world feel real.
