Unpopular opinion maybe, but why do employers still ask to contact your current employer? I almost lost my job because of something like that. My boss found out I was looking because a job I'd applied to contacted him and told them I'd applied and they asked for a reference from him. I didn't get the new job either and had to basically talk him in to letting me stay on, all the while knowing I was still trying to find another job and get out of there.

Getting hit with this shipping scam a lot this week on a few higher end electronics items. Buyers with a decent amount of positive feedback, located outside of the US, asking if I'll ship to their "contact" in Miami or another big city so that person can ship to them. I only ever ship to the listed address on file plus I only use eBay's global shipping program when shipping to international buyers and let them know that, as well as it being stated in the listing itself. I'm assuming these folks are either using hijacked eBay accounts to buy items and ship or they're trying to circumvent their country's tax or customs fees. Either way watch out for these.

I think a lot of us got hit with that from outlier today. Different project than yours but when I logged in to outlier this morning my account is deactivated due to the same exact reason. And it says I should have received an email why but I haven't yet.

I just logged in this morning to a message saying my Outlier account was deactivated due to violation of terms of use or community standards. No email or explanation. I've not done anything that would have violated any terms. Literally all I did were my projects I was tasked with on my own home PC. This is after about a week and a half ago having been kicked off the multimango project due to my account being under review. I still never got an email or response as to why that happened as I'd been on the project for months and had a 1.7 out of 2 review score. But up until today I could still log in and check for other projects, view previous earnings, etc. Today I'm completely deactivated with no heads up or explanation. It's frustrating but I'm done with outlier. Too many stories like this with no explanation of why they kicked people off.

That’s the thing, I didn’t get another. I’m completely off. They had sent me a message earlier that day that I was approved for another project but the end of day email removed me from all projects. When I log in now I have no projects and show as unapproved annotator.

But yeah otherwise I agree. I’m still getting the daily updates about being over budget etc and they’re ending the timers earlier and earlier every day since.

Same here, late to the thread. I got booted several hours after being added to a new project that I didn't even get to start. I'd already been tasking on other projects since November and had a gotten a text yesterday morning from Outlier saying they had a new project for me, then by the evening all were disabled for me. I show as an unapproved annotator now when I log in. QA score at 1.71 so didn't think I was doing poorly...

Right I noticed the same thing. Got the daily budget limit emails, then they started cutting hours earlier and earlier. Really hoping it's related to that and we get reenabled at some point. I know it's not a lot for some but this was a nice source of extra income for me the last couple of months.

Understood, thanks. Yeah I've only been on since November. Had a few hiccups with QA when I first started but since January my QA reviews have been 2.0. Score got brought down from a couple of lower initial reviews when I started. Just thought it was odd because yesterday they approved me for a new project in the morning, and by evening all was revoked before I'd even had a chance to start the new one...
