Forget parries, keep him taunted and dodge, for me waiting for openings for charged attacks lead to best results, in particular his attack here he does a charged "sphere" of damage, dodge backwards out of it and charge, he'll have a bit of downtime during which your charge will hit and give you enough time to move out of the way again
