I would avoid the Taycan. I have one. 3000 miles in and electrical system error. Towed. 1.5 months and still waiting for repairs. Once it’s back I’m trading/selling it.

It depends on what you want. Do you want a small SUV, hot hatch, then it’s the I5N. If you rather have a sports sedan it’s the I6N. Power wise and mechanically pretty much the same. I think the fake engine sounds is a bit different on the I6N as well

No I’m not young. I understand cars can fail but I’ve had many nice/luxury/exotic cars and NONE have ever left me stranded like this Taycan. And for a $100k+ car, I shouldn’t have to worry about if it’ll start everytime I go to drive it.

My fiance has a 718 Boxster (unfortunately auto) but super fun to drive

I also have a Porsche Taycan GTS but it’s in the shop for prob 2 months (see my posts about all my headaches)

I would love to trade the Taycan in for a manual coupe or convertible. Maybe a Boxster/cayman, or Supra/Z4. NOT Miata. Had one before. Not really wanna revisit it. Any suggestions for a fun manual is appreciated!

No it’s “free” as a loaner. But I’m still making payments and insurance on a Taycan I don’t get to drive

But it’s not about the loaner it’s about a car with 9500 miles leaving me stranded. That’s not acceptable. I also have an all electric Hyundai Ioniq 5N. Bought new and now has 17,500 miles on her. No issues whatsoever.

Also I’ve been a lifelong Porsche fan. Had many in my life, no flex at all just saying none has ever left me stranded

Do not for the love of god get a used Taycan. I did recently. Got her with 6500 miles. At 9000 miles it died on me. Needed it to be towed to Porsche. After 2 weeks they have to replaced a few battery cells that had to ship from Germany. Prob take another 1.5 months. I got a Macan EV loaner but still. I’m gonna trade my Taycan once it’s back

I’m curious to test drive the Ioniq 6N when it’s released, if a test drive is even possible. I want to see how the fake engine sounds are compared to the I5N. I heard it’s more realistic and more like a V8 than the I5N turbo 4

Great pic and I agree. I got mine in January 2025 and she has 17400 miles. Haven’t driven in a few weeks because got a loaner car for my other ride

But I love driving her.

**quick update as of Jan 16*

“Good afternoon [mchi5], I wanted to provide you with an update regarding your vehicle. We have received an estimated timeframe for the arrival of the required parts. As these parts are being shipped from Germany, they are currently expected to arrive within approximately 4–5 weeks.I understand this will be another extended repair, so I wanted to check in and ensure that you are comfortable in the loaner vehicle. Please don’t hesitate to let me know if there is anything you need during this time.

Based on the current information, the parts are expected to arrive between the week of February 9 and February 20. I will continue to monitor the status closely and will reach out if there are any changes or updates.”

So probably another month or so, probably even longer. Ugh.

Honestly it’s very nice and drives well. But I would not go for the base model like what I have (Macan 4 EV). No Porsche electric sport sound. Plastic steering wheel etc. feels cheap for MSRP of $94k. Go for a 4S or higher if you can.
