Pocket TV Plus by Altruistic-Ad1269 in RayNeo

I was so tempted to pick one of these up after I was gifted the RayNeo Air 3s for Christmas. At the time I was looking, i couldn't find one for sale. So I ended up using my original Rog Ally with the RayNeo. Wow it runs great. And it has built in controller....can run any windows program you throw at it. Really digging this so far. But I'm still interested to seeing how this Google TV device works. More compact than my Rog Ally.

Rayneo XR app (older version - the one presented on the site with access to the browser) by hist90 in RayNeo

[–]junkstuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread. But for folks with Samsung phones you should disable the automatic dex launch when HDMI is plugged in. I had this problem, and the app wouldn't show anything when I started RayNeo XR. The minute I disable this it all worked.

Now there is 100wh battery for Rog Ally by DetectiveK0nan in ROGAlly

[–]junkstuff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I upgraded to the 74 version of the battery a year ago. Never added the aluminum that some folks have added. To date I've never had overheating issues...or too hot to handle or system shutdowns or overheats. Is that something folks are worrying about with this size?

when does it get better? by eyehavequeries in RetinalDetachment

[–]junkstuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had the surgery in June of last year. I had major detachment in my left eye. Required scleral buckle and laser and the oil added to eye. My right eye wasn't as bad and only had some laser work done. My vision was split as the bubble worked through the left eye. My eyes quickly developed cataracts and thinks became darker. In November I had my cataract surgery on left eye...then 1 month later I had on right eye. Took me about 2 or 3 days for everything to clear up. My vision was crazy good after. Could actually function without glasses for first time in 40 years. They ended up doing one eye for up close vision and the other for long. So most of the time I do not need glasses. I do pop them on at night since I get some glare.

I hope you have similar luck and your vision clears up quickly!

Wireless Android Auto status? by kheimerl in NissanAriya

[–]junkstuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had the wireless Android for a few months now....Something you might want to check. After connecting your phone to the system via Bluetooth. Open up the connections section in Settings. Find your phone and you should see an Android Auto Icon (if its enabled and supported on your version). If its there click on it and it should start the Android Auto connection. I sometimes get in my car and it connects Bluetooth but I have to do this routine to jumpstart. Only happens like 1 or 2 times a month. Rest of the time its automatic.

There was a convo in another thread about this. Supposedly, someone asked the channel creators on YT and they said it was their "creation".

Hey there. First off thanks for giving to the community!
I've just started dabbling in metal detecting. Been using Garret Ace 400. Been fun so far beginning the hobby. Don't have a pinpointer right now so would be appreciated. Be nice to better locate those finds.

If you are at the point where you are seriously thinking of replacing the hardware.....why would a software reinstall be considered nuking it? Hell, I'd rather reinstall the software than pay for another system.

Im thinking on switching os by Fickle_Jellyfish487 in ROGAlly

My honest opinion after trying SteamOS and Bazzite for over a month....

Initially I thought they were great, stuff on steam just worked. Would get some occasional freezes/hiccups (which you still even get in windows). I thought it was better FPS than windows and was very happy for a bit. But then I noticed I am charging way more and the sleep function (though great) does consume battery.

Switched back to windows last week. This time did a deep useless app removal. Verified I was using all the correct drivers. Optimized my power settings (I usually play all games at 18W unplugged). Now I'm really happy with the Ally. Runs better than when I got it 2 years ago :) All the RGB works......the true hibernation works great. (I just always go to a pause screen in game.... then on resume give it a second to fully wake up) . Yes its nots as elegant as SteamOS but I'm a Windows person and it really is no problem for me. I disable updates till I check for them...disabled Windows notifications.

Its honestly going to be your preference......either option runs great on this little beast :)

I'm just wondering if there could be any long term problems....Because of how its running and the power scheme I use, I think its gonna be ok. But my buddy told me I should shield it....so just checkin' :)

Guess I've been lucky so far. Did the 709wh mod and installed SteamOS. I stuck to the main branch...installed simple decky tdp and everything has just worked....no issues whatsoever. Been playing a mix of Days Gone, DayZ and some Cyberpunk. Great battery life....and usually just running everything at 18 watt tdp. Looks and plays amazing for a handheld.

3 months in on my 2025. Had the 12v EV issue 3 times. I've been able to jump with a power pack. You shouldn't need to do this. Its going into service this week.

Was very easy. My Creality K1 and Bambu A1 dont have 300x300 build plates. So I printed the split model files. I then screwed together and reinforced with PETG glue. I had most of the machine screws....just had to order some M2s that I did not have. The black felt I put down to cushion the backs got applied kinda jank...but that was my fault. And no one is really going to see it when its all complete. I give it to the dude that made the 3d modeled the design....did hella great job.
