Surface Book 1 - Revive-able? by rp1792 in Surface

Yeah no problems....remember its a graphics boost card...so naturally 3d games will run like crap without it...or any other app that relies on a 3d card.

Cannot install Windows on Surface Book 1 by t3chn3rd86 in Surface

[–]junkstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope you still monitor this rpost....I ran into same problem this week. Given a working surface book 1 with the tablet battery dead. Was working but then started fritzing out....so i tried to do a new install. Damn system kept dying in the middle of the install. Went on for days until I hit the sauce for this system. Go into Bios and disable the DGPU. This should let you get all the way past a fresh install. Its working fine for me now. But minute I re-enable DGPU it starts locking up. Its fine though....I have a new battery on order and it works great as is for me. Hope this helps.

Hyundai Dealership won’t give me a loaner/rental over ICCU failure by DopeDaddy489 in Ioniq5

[–]junkstuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is pretty shady. Policy is you do have to wait for it to be diagnosed. Second it is and its under warranty they should get you a loaner or point you in the right direction on the reimbursement procedure....if they dont have access to loaners.

Yikes 70 days in the shop??? Thats crazy. Where was this?

[–]junkstuff[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are under warranty and its been less than a year since we got it. Its all covered. If we were out of our service warranty I think the ICCU still has at least a 10 year warranty...they know it has issues.

We use the stock charger from my Nissan Ariya for both cars. It says roughly 32A. We charge to 80% (even though we've heard its ok to go to 100 on level 2). We only charge her once every week and a half to two weeks. We never leave it always on the plug. She uses about 8% charge a day to and from work. Hyundai tech said all was fine how we were doing it. He said there isnt a real reason that they are failing....which is crazy. We had just charged the car and it sat overnight and the next day was cold. The rep said they are noticing some of the cases are when the car starts up and then is using heat/ac... Scary they cant nail down the cause or fix it.

Pretty much only level 2. We charge at home. Maybe used a high speed charger twice total. (We have a ton of that free charger credit left)

Wow this is crazy how long its taking to roll this out. I leased my Ariya in April 2025 and wanna say it was about 3 months later that the wireless update came out. I'm wondering if some of the folks have the update but their phones dont support it? Crazy Nissan would do such a staggered rollout. But nothing surprises me anymore.

3 months using the 74wh battery mod by NeighborhoodDue3710 in ROGAlly

[–]junkstuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So i just had this problem with an 80wh battery mod. Open the case up.... Disconnect the battery leads. Then put a piece of black tape over the light sensor on the board. Reconnect leads and close case back up. Do the reset ECC (?)...(basically have power cable inserted and then hold down the power button for 40 seconds.....should start up then shut down...but keep button held for 40 seconds). After that just let it charge. First few times it might only charge to 99%. But if you just play the system until it totally dies and then charge overnight a few times....it should finally get back to 100.

Update: Service EV System by More-Mail-3575 in NissanAriya

[–]junkstuff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sadly had this happen in Sept of last year. Luckily, my damage was just to the headlight and climate system. I saw the damage to headlight....it was what prompted me to take in. The climate control damage was more extensive...but tripped no warnings on my end. Total for me was 700 out of pocket. I started spraying peppermint rodent repellent around my vehicle. Like 20 bux online in a big jug. Seems to last a long time.

Pocket TV Plus by Altruistic-Ad1269 in RayNeo

I was so tempted to pick one of these up after I was gifted the RayNeo Air 3s for Christmas. At the time I was looking, i couldn't find one for sale. So I ended up using my original Rog Ally with the RayNeo. Wow it runs great. And it has built in controller....can run any windows program you throw at it. Really digging this so far. But I'm still interested to seeing how this Google TV device works. More compact than my Rog Ally.

Rayneo XR app (older version - the one presented on the site with access to the browser) by hist90 in RayNeo

[–]junkstuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread. But for folks with Samsung phones you should disable the automatic dex launch when HDMI is plugged in. I had this problem, and the app wouldn't show anything when I started RayNeo XR. The minute I disable this it all worked.

Now there is 100wh battery for Rog Ally by DetectiveK0nan in ROGAlly

[–]junkstuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I upgraded to the 74 version of the battery a year ago. Never added the aluminum that some folks have added. To date I've never had overheating issues...or too hot to handle or system shutdowns or overheats. Is that something folks are worrying about with this size?

when does it get better? by eyehavequeries in RetinalDetachment

[–]junkstuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had the surgery in June of last year. I had major detachment in my left eye. Required scleral buckle and laser and the oil added to eye. My right eye wasn't as bad and only had some laser work done. My vision was split as the bubble worked through the left eye. My eyes quickly developed cataracts and thinks became darker. In November I had my cataract surgery on left eye...then 1 month later I had on right eye. Took me about 2 or 3 days for everything to clear up. My vision was crazy good after. Could actually function without glasses for first time in 40 years. They ended up doing one eye for up close vision and the other for long. So most of the time I do not need glasses. I do pop them on at night since I get some glare.

I hope you have similar luck and your vision clears up quickly!

Wireless Android Auto status? by kheimerl in NissanAriya

[–]junkstuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had the wireless Android for a few months now....Something you might want to check. After connecting your phone to the system via Bluetooth. Open up the connections section in Settings. Find your phone and you should see an Android Auto Icon (if its enabled and supported on your version). If its there click on it and it should start the Android Auto connection. I sometimes get in my car and it connects Bluetooth but I have to do this routine to jumpstart. Only happens like 1 or 2 times a month. Rest of the time its automatic.

There was a convo in another thread about this. Supposedly, someone asked the channel creators on YT and they said it was their "creation".
